Trudeau was just elected with a minority government. He rules only if at least one other party supports him. Unfortunately all but one party has thrown support behind him at various times and the one party that opposes him has so far offered mixed and timid opposition.

Edit - it also appears that Canadian police are pointing rifles at the protesters and have scaled some of the structures with weapons. This is an insane escalation of force.

It seems like desperation on the leftists side since the window of opportunity is closing fast. Thursday at 2pm they rescinded all the COVID restrictions at work. Returning in full on the 28th. There's still the vaccination requirement but anyone left is already vaccinated.

Seems a lot of truckers need to have unexpected breakdowns in groups on various highways. Block traffic everywhere. Or a general strike.

Engine no worky, call a tow truck. As Powermad could attest, it's not hard to disable a modern diesel without damaging it. Unhooking an electrical connector is all it takes. And it would not be obvious until a tech looks at it.

The Canadian government has shown they will shut down political opponents with threats of violence and actual violence after refusing to engage in any discussion.

This is a far far cry from all the credence and "solidarity" given to BLM protesters. In then end, I don't expect any Trucker protestors to give their life over this, nor do I expect them to assault police, other than simply refuse to move and let the police use whatever force they get away with. Non-violence is the loudest voice (as MLK proved), despite the ridiculous claims by Trudeau, with no evidence, that they were violent terrorists waving Nazi and Confederate flags. I expect any Nazi depictions were actually signs of Trudeau as Hitler saluting the swastika, but I haven't seen any photos at all so it could just be a lie.

Now will come the lawsuits for violating rights using a false "war powers emergency", confiscating assets without due process, police brutality, etc.

That’s the thing. Leftist politicians only have power that their complicit enforcement apparatus gives them. None of this would be happening if others refused to enforce. It’s very frustrating.

It is as Matthew describes above. Leftism is imposed by force. And as described by an Obama cabinet member, power comes largely from the barrel of a gun.

Yes, regardless of how this ends in the capital, they need to hang up their keys and stop transporting goods. The protest can continue from home....if they can survive in the process. My hat's off to them and my prayers are with them. With all the "good" Canadians!

For a peaceful protest like previously described by the media, there sure doesn't seem to be a lot of broken windows, burning cars, or looting going on. Strange. Yet in this case, the police are actually employing riot tactics. So weird.

Since the beginning I have suggested that anybody who has faced a "vaccine" mandate should simply walk away. Had everybody done this it would have crippled the entire economy in a very short period of time and forced positive change. We have seen it on a small scale with the airlines.

But it was too much of an inconvenience for some, or not worth the sacrifice. So here we are today hanging our hats on the truckers.

Why just the truckers? I have refused to work for any government agency and several private entities that are requiring vaccines, masks, or similar. What if we all did that?
