In this case, not one good reason.

In the past, I would think, when transitions were amicable, you wanted to be able to ask questions or get input from what might’ve happened during the past administration. So there might’ve been a need to keep people’s clearances current so they can be read in on situations.

Sadly, I think those times are long gone.

President Donald Trump dropped a political bombshell on Friday, signing an executive order that yanks security clearances from some of the most notorious figures of the radical left.

The list reads like a who’s who of Trump-hating elitists and Deep State operatives like Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris.

I can't help but wonder why it took him this long. Seems like something he would have done within the first few days... but that's just my opinion.

I'm guessing they had clearances because their jobs allowed them access to classified info related to FBI/DEA/ATF cooperation with NYS/NYC LE agencies.

And yes, they're pond scum.

Not sure how it is for every level of security clearance, but I have been under the impression that certain clearances are good for X years.

So, if you work for the man in a capacity that requires a clearance, you get the clearance. If you later leave the job before your clearance's natural expiration, you technically still have a clearance, and can use that to market yourself for another job that may require it.

President Trump Demands “Full-Throated” Apology from Maine Govenor Big Grin President Trump on Saturday demanded a “full-throated” apology from Maine Gov. Janet Mills (D) before his administration can settle its dispute with the state for defying his executive order banning transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports.

The University of Maine System (UMS) backed down earlier this week and promised to follow the executive order on transgender competition, but Trump suggested the dispute over federal funding won’t be resolved until Mills’ mea culpa.

“While the State of Maine has apologized for their Governor’s strong, but totally incorrect, statement about men playing in women’s sports while at the White House House Governor’s Conference, we have not heard from the Governor herself, and she is the one that matters,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

We need a full throated apology from the Governor herself, and a statement that she will never make such an unlawful challenge to the Federal Government again, before this case can be settled.”

On Feb. 5, Trump signed an executive order that effectively banned transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports or else get cut off from federal funds. But top athletic associations in The Pine Tree State quickly resisted Trump’s order.

BlackRock (BLK) CEO Larry Fink orchestrated the Panama Canal port takeover that made President Trump happy, but the cost may be an angry Xi Jinping.

The Wall Street Journal reported this week that the Chinese leader is not happy with a $22.8 billion deal giving a BlackRock-led investment coalition control of two key ports on either end of the vital shipping lane currently owned by Hong Kong conglomerate CK Hutchison.

CK Hutchison, which is controlled by the family of 96-year-old Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-shing, didn’t seek preapproval from Chinese government leadership, according to the Wall Street Journal.

What's more, Chinese leaders hoped to use the ports as a bargaining chip with the Trump administration as part of larger talks between the two countries, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Other signs of displeasure emerged in articles and commentary published in pro-Beijing newspaper Ta Kung Pao, arguing that Chinese ships would now face restrictions in the canal and accusing CK Hutchison of "prioritizing profit over everything, disregarding national interests and national righteousness."

The deal deserves "serious attention," Hong Kong's leader, John Lee, added earlier this week, without directly criticizing CK Hutchison.
'Taking it back'

The rumblings from Beijing add a new layer of complications to what appeared to be a big win for BlackRock's Fink, who himself reached out to the White House after Trump alleged Chinese interference in the canal and said he wanted to "take it back."

Fink argued to the White House that there would be no need to forcibly take the ports if BlackRock were to arrange a purchase on its own.

Trump referenced the deal during his address to Congress earlier this month while still reiterating that "my administration will be reclaiming the Panama Canal" and "taking it back."

It's not immediately clear what steps Hong Kong or Beijing could take to block the transaction, which isn't yet final and still requires consent from various regulators. The companies hope to sign a definitive agreement by April 2.

Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal reported that Chinese authorities are examining the deal closely. Bloomberg said the review includes any signs of security breaches or antitrust violations, while the Wall Street Journal said officials have been told to see what Beijing can do to hinder the deal.

BlackRock's stock price would likely "see a little hit" if the pact falls through, according to CFRA analyst Cathy Seifert, but the bigger threat would be to the credibility of BlackRock's newly bolstered infrastructure group.

My question- why Obama, Bush, Pence, Dick Cheney, if they still have access to sensitive information, why aren't their names on the list as well? And Mary McCord- if she still has access she needs to lose security clearance 100%.

The Department of Homeland Security said Friday that it will revoke protections for 532,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans, setting them up for potential deportation in about a month.

The order applies to immigrants who arrived in the U.S. since October 2022 under a Biden-era sponsorship process that allowed migrants to enter with a legal "parole" for two years.

The Trump administration said the program was part of a broad abuse of humanitarian parole plagued by fraud and abuse. An internal review found that thousands of sponsors were listing fake social security numbers and using the same physical address for thousands of parole applications.

DHS is urging migrants to use the newly repurposed CBP Home smartphone app to register for self-deportation or face arrest and deportation in the next 30 days.

With all these injunctions coming everyday it's hard to tell if any real progress is actually being made. I know the planes didn't get turned around so that's a win but are transgenders still allowed in the military? Are the USAID workers going back to work and their funding restored? Are males still playing in women's sports? Plus all the other injunctions. Is Trump just ignoring all of them or is he complying until he can figure out the next step? We have to start turning things into law. Living under executive orders is not the answer.

I'm guessing if he's ignoring them then that will be considered a constitutional crisis and impeachments will be filed based on that.

I doubt it. We still have a majority in the house, and everyone of them knows PDJT has a mandate. Any Republican voting to impeach could count on getting primaried, unless their state had a mechanism to fire them before their term was up.

That is not entirely accurate. An individual's clearance is subordinate to his employer's "facility" clearance. If you lose your job, any clearance you might have held under that employer is revoked.

The benefit when being considered for another job that requires a clearance is that the background investigators have a much abbreviated period to investigate, and that a new clearance can be issued with less delay, unless, of course, contradictory facts emerge. There is no "carry-over" to a new employer.

Automatic re-investigation after X years is only for certain highly-sensitive jobs, not a routine thing. There is no "issued for a specific period of time" proviso (that I have ever heard of). And clearances are not suspended during a re-investigation.

Maduro Bends The Knee: Venezuela Agrees To Resume US Deportation Flights Of Illegal Immigrants

https://www.zerohedge.com/geop...s-illegal-immigrants

Venezuela has said it will once again accept U.S. repatriation flights carrying its nationals deported for illegally entering the United States.

Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro announced that a deal had been reached in a televised address on Saturday.

“Tomorrow, thanks to the government’s perseverance, we'll resume flights to continue rescuing and freeing migrants from prisons in the United States,” Maduro said.

Venezuela’s Parliament President and chief negotiator with the United States, Jorge Rodriguez, said in a statement on social media, “We have agreed with the U.S. government to resume the repatriation of Venezuelan migrants with an initial flight tomorrow, Sunday.”

This will prevent illegal immigrants who are Venezuelan nationals from being deported to detention centers in El Salvador, as well as guarantee “the return of our compatriots to their nation with the safeguard of their Human Rights,” he said, referring to Venezuelan gang members currently detained in El Salvador.

“Migrating isn’t a crime, and we won’t rest until everyone who wants to return is back and we rescue our kidnapped brothers in El Salvador,” Rodriguez added.

I doubt the clearances were revoked for cause.

A clearance is on need to know basis. If one of them get a job at say Boeing on that F-47, and need the clearance (likely the whole workforce), then the clearances can be granted again - after the cursory background checks.

The cause should be that they are GDCs and traitors. The clearances should NEVER be reinstated, no matter the need to know or process. As long as Trump or Vance or someone who actually puts the US first is in charge, I hope they will make sure these GDC never get a clearance again. Hell, they shouldn't be allowed on federal property again other than a post office. Wouldn't mind seeing their passports revoked too. Fook them.

Military clearances are often "transferable" to military contractors.

i.e. USAF member separates with an active clearance and as long as it is active, when employed by someone like Lockheed Martin, the security clearance is applied. (F-35 program. personal experience)
