Dems really going crazy today on this alleged war plans group chat leak. I guess they plan to take the SecDef and others down now.

Can't really figure out if this is a true scandal or not as it keeps saying "unclassified" in the articles but the Dems are going to try by hook or by crook to make it one:

We’ll see. The dems are starving for any tidbit they can leverage. Everyone knows they have become the Hoaxocratic party. They haven’t learned that fabricating and amplifying a narrative yields only temporary satisfaction and when the truth comes out, they all have egg on their faces. It’s literally why so many have left the Left and few believe what the media says anymore.

Accidental or intentional, whoever that put the Atlantic guy's number into the chat group, his or her head needs to roll. If intentional, it's worse, because it tells you they still have enemies working inside the administration.

My thought is that they setup the Atlantic reporter. Trump is using the “Russia Russia Russia laptop hoax” in reverse. The military calls this “Disinformation Warfare”, in order to fake-out the enemy. Another example of “trolling distraction” of the Dems.

Trump and Hegseth gave that rat enough rope and he did the rest.

I hope this is correct. But given the constant data breaches, leaks and cyber warfare ops that go on why can't these people get together in a secure and cleared room and have these discussions? Discussing these types of matters on Chat or supposed encrypted text just does not seem like the answer.

That was my first thought too. It's literally right out of Sun Tzu's "Art of War"

Many others have pointed out that the participants on that Signal thread demonstrated honesty; independence of thought and willingness to compromise; and loyalty to the President and to the national interest. Yes, there was some discussion of “messaging” but only in relation to the timing of attacks.
It looks like Trump is saying that Walz made a mistake, it wasn’t serious, let’s move on. I think that’s the right response.

That's more likely than the suggestion that it was the administration setup to make the left look bad. They surely don't need the unnecessary headache they're dealing with right now, e.g., Gabbard having to appear before Congress to answer questions.

Trump Stands By NSA Waltz: He 'Learned a Lesson'

President Donald Trump is standing by Mike Waltz in the aftermath the national security adviser's snafu of adding a magazine editor to a group chat about plans for military action, telling NBC News that Waltz "learned a lesson."

Trump made the comments in a phone interview on Tuesday, hours after Politico reported that Waltz might get forced out as NSA.

"Michael Waltz has learned a lesson, and he's a good man," Trump told NBC News.

Trump's comments came around the same time that White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a post to X that the "President continues to have confidence in his national security team, including Mike Waltz."

"Stories claiming otherwise are driven by anonymous sources who clearly do not speak to the President, and written by reporters who are thirsty for a 'scoop,'" Leavitt added, ostensibly referencing Politico's story from late Monday night.

In an article released Monday, Atlantic Editor-in-Chief Goldberg wrote that on March 11 he received a "connection request" on the Signal app from Waltz, which he accepted, thinking that Waltz "wanted to chat about Ukraine, or Iran, or some other important matter."

According to Goldberg, Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Waltz used the group chat to discuss possible military action in Yemen against the Houthis, the terrorist group responsible for attacks on shipping lanes in the region. Goldberg noted that one post from Hegseth "contained operational details of forthcoming strikes on Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the U.S. would be deploying, and attack sequencing."

Leavitt said, "No war plans were discussed," and "2. No classified material was sent to the thread."

Trump told NBC News it was "the only glitch in two months, and it turned out not to be a serious one," explaining how Goldberg was accidentally added to the message thread.

"It was one of Michael's people on the phone. A staffer had his number on there," Trump said.

The honorable thing for Goldberg to have done was to let the group know immediately that he was there and probably should not have been, so that they would be aware. And he should have stfu about it publicly.

Any pretense of him being non-political has been destroyed by him going public. The only reason to go public was to cause harm to the administration, which would cause harm to the country.
