I doubt it's TDS; he's pointing out the challenges (a major understatement) to converting a tourist attraction back into a prison. Personally, I would not have used the word "loon," but it's a bad idea. Do I have TDS too?

Here's one just inland that's in much better shape:

There are much better choices than rebuilding Alcatraz.

PDJT’s idea of re-opening Alcatraz is his way of creating an outrageous ‘moment’ in a style and tactic that he often uses, to get a discussion going to solve a problem or challenge at hand.

It’s nice to see that pelosi fell for it, because now she can be told to help or get the phuk out of the way to address the prison capacity shortages in the USA.

From google AI -

“Yes, there is a prison shortage in the United States, primarily due to a combination of factors including overcrowding and staffing shortages. Prisons are often overcrowded, and the number of people working in state prisons has fallen to its lowest level this century. This has led to extended lockdowns, reduced services for inmates, and a cycle of understaffing and deteriorating conditions.”

I never had TDS but on this, he's just spitting BS and gibberish.

Just because I voted him for him twice doesn't mean I turned the "WTF" BS detector.

It would be a complete waste of money. There's no upside to trying to bring it back.

I think you need to get it calibrated. This is how he starts a national conversation on any given topic, by making an outrageous statement. He doesn't actually want to reopen Alcatraz.

I see that critical thinking isn't necessary to be a member. Care to explain why you think Alcatraz redevelopment is a great idea, other than Trump saying so? You ever post on here, or anywhere else, with your deep contemplative thought that we need to rebuild Alcatraz because it's necessary?

Hmmm, curious...There were three opportunities to vote for Trump, so who did you vote for in that third election?

Trump is good at winding up leftists just to get them off balance. They are hard to be a good adversary when they’re focused on throwing a fit. Get em out of the way so he’s free to work.

Amazing to me that after years in the national news so many people do not understand how Trump communicates. He throws out outrageous ideas to get people talking about issues that otherwise would remain unaddressed, lets the dust settle and moves forward with a sensible solution. Often the timing is combined such that it embarrasses his impotent political opponents.

The tactic is amazingly effective and he accomplishes so much; not least of which is seizing narrative control from a hostile media (something other republicans are incapable of). Yet each time the democrats and some otherwise intelligent people fail to recognize the pattern and insist he’s gone off the edge, is a loon, or this one is finally the time he went too far, etc. Meanwhile Trump moves onto another 2 or 3 topics with a version of the same tactic leaving opponents reeling, exhausted, and unable to coordinate a response. To the uninitiated it appears chaotic but to me he’s mastered staying on offense, and he’s gotten so much better over time. No one can do it the way he does, if you see this and aren’t impressed you simply aren’t grasping his method.

The monkey paints a good picture...

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

For the illegal aliens the judges think we should not deport, because they are suddenly worried about due process...

Forget Supermax, How about a big tent in Alaska where they can sit pending "due process"?

They'll be begging for deportation.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see, probably not Alcatraz, maybe not new prisons, but existing prisons expanded, or - for non-violent inmates - Joe Arpaio-style "tent cities."
