I agree with this. Trump made an astounding pick with JD. Short video by Jordan Peterson about JD which is impressive.

No. We need more term limits not less. No matter how good a job anyone does, politics should not be a career, nor did the founders intend for that. There will be other great people that can fill President Trump’s shoes. If he does a good job, it will be that much easier to ensure that a like minded person can replace him.

The issue of, “But he said bad things about … years ago!” gets raised time and again about political and social issues. Which would we rather have, though, someone who through thought and experience reevaluated his earlier position and came to the conclusion that he had been mistaken—or someone who was indoctrinated at an early age and never gave any thought thereafter to what they were taught? It’s common for unintelligent people who are incapable of anything other than being unthinking loyalists to become cultists who cannot bear the thought of any criticism of their idol. And we see that all the time, especially on the Left. Yes, cultists vote just like anyone else, but the people we want on our side are the ones who are smart and insightful enough to support us because they have actually given serious consideration of the issues and figured out what the most sensible position is.

Trump is awesome and I really appreciate everything he is doing. However, he is old. I don’t want him dying in office like FDR. Also, he has done a hell of a lot for us already and he will likely have done orders of magnitude more for us by the end end of his next term. If he hasn’t earned the right to pass the torch and enjoy his retirement then I cannot imagine who might have.
