Sent it to taxpayers, not everyone, just those that files and paid taxes, or will it also go to people who get social benefits and don't pay taxes as well. Could we really trust returning these funds to the bureau that it was allocated to and trust them to use it in a way to reduce debt?

As much as I like to see DOGE finding these payments, and stopping funding of ludicrous social agenda items like LGBTQ understanding for Nigerian media, or circumcisions in Uganda, what I want to see published is Who authored that expenditure, what bill was it in who passed the bill and how were they planning to disburse those funds and to whom....

A wind fall of $5K would pay off my house, still I'd rather the fed.gov under President Trump fire one GS-15 and one GS-14 for every dollar they want to return to me.

That way the savings will last.

These two examples are just from today, and showed up in my Twitter TL one after the other, and you can find lots of examples on Twitter and TikTok.

With Sean Curran now in place as head of the USSS and with Kash Patel just a day or two away from being head Of the FBI, there needs to be a message sent to people who issue such threats, in the strongest possible terms, which means investigation, interview, arrest, conviction and incarceration.

This shit must stop. If these people are going to publicly act like the fucking half-wits they are, they should pay the price, as a warning to all others. Threats against USSS protectees are not protected speech.

We should not have to spend the next four years listening to violent threats from stupid people. These violent imbeciles must pay the price.

Fox59.com:Indiana man charged with threatening Elon Musk on X arrested for felony intimidation

(WXIN/WTTV) — An Indiana man has been arrested for intimidation after allegedly posting threats against Elon Musk on X – the app formerly known as Twitter that Musk now owns.

David A. Cherry, 28, was arrested Tuesday by police in southern Indiana after he allegedly posted life-threatening statements directed at Musk on the billionaire businessman-turned-politico‘s social media site.

Cherry, a Palmyra resident, was officially charged with one count of felony intimidation.

Indiana State Police officials were contacted early Tuesday morning by Texas law enforcement regarding an X user they said lived in southern Indiana.

Texas authorities claimed Cherry had posted threats directed toward the richest man in the world earlier this month on X, but did not provide further details.
Indiana man named Peyton Manning charged with threatening to kill pregnant woman

Acting on this information, ISP detectives began investigating and found Cherry in Clarksville. After taking him into custody, police reportedly searched his Palmyra home and found the following:

An AR-15-style rifle
A handgun
Ammunition
A ballistic vest

Cherry was then taken to the Harrison County Jail and booked on one count of Intimidation – a Level 5 Felony. He is currently being held without bond.

ISP Sgt. Carey Huls spoke on the arrest on Wednesday:

quote:
“Obviously it’s a situation where you have somebody makes public statements on a social media network for everybody to see – threats against another person – and that has to be taken very seriously. You know, it was just, December last year, (UnitedHealthcare) CEO Brian Thompson was shot and killed walking along the sidewalk in Manhattan. Had there been some type of a social media post prior to that that could have been looked into and prevented something like this? So we can’t take those chances in this day and age to put something that’s very inflammatory, specific towards a person and just expect that to go without us looking into it.

It’s a serious offense. Again, life-threatening statements. Our detectives applied for a search warrant, did go to the individual’s house, where they found some other information that would relate to those statements to basically corroborate and say, yes, this is a possibility. This could have been his thoughts.“

FOX59/CBS4 is now working to obtain more information surrounding Cherry’s arrest, including specifics on the alleged threats made toward Musk and where Cherry will be facing charges. This article will be updated once more information becomes available.

They ARE real dollars, but they are real dollars the government has already seized that would be introduced into the market. How would that amount of money not cause inflation?

I didn’t get a stimulus check after 9/11 nor the second one after that.

Not one thin dime from the Covid checks.

It’s my money and I want it back and I already paid taxes on it so fork it over.

I doubt I will see a penny of that either.

Because those same dollars would be spent by the fed.gov rather than taxpayers around the nation.

If inflation is that big a worry, use ALL the money to pay down the national debt.

"The government is broke". The collapse is imminent. How many decades have we heard that line of bullshit, and they (.gov) kept on with their waste, fraud and abuse by stealing from the taxpaying Average Joe? If it came down to them actually refunding my money, I want it back. If some of you guys want them to keep your money that they stole to pay down the so-called debt, you can always send it back. Or, better yet, just tell them "No" and save yourself a stamp. No different than telling Bill Gates to write a check for the government, because he's always said he's not paying enough tax. Roll Eyes

Btw, all these rooting out of waste and eliminating them by DOGE is paying down the debt. And, they're talking using only 1/5 of the money being saved to refund the taxpayers.

And another thing, DOGE is a one-time thing and will not be around forever. If you guys think waste, fraud and abuse will be eliminated once and for all, and the Golden Age of America is happily ever after, I'm selling an ocean-front property in Las Vegas for cheap. Even better, it's located right next to The Mirage.

While in a less direct and personal manner, apparently some Dem "lawmakers" are threatening violence. I don't have to tell you what the reaction would be if Republicans had said this.

I'd like to see some prosecutions / convictions come out of DOGE. I hope that's in the cards.

I fear this will be true. The entire house of cards will fail at the same time. The dollar will become worthless, the government will be in total disarray, and society will be in freefall. That's my "zombie apocalypse" scenario that I think could happen.

True, though it could be a minor drain on the general budget if it were nearly solvent. Meaning we as a country could decide it is acceptable for SS to run slightly in the red for limited periods of time. But that isn't what is happening, it is so very much worse than that.
