China has started seas trials on its newest carrier

it would be a real shame if something were to happen to it, like it sinks...

I hope our navy can figure out how to get to the bottom

If you flip it over it says, "Made in China" on the bottom.

I do think a preemptive strike against China is too risky give their missile buildup but some form of action needs to be taken after they imposed tariffs on our goods. I don't know what the answer is but I am willing to bet Trump does.

I thought the poster at the top was hinting at sinking their new carrier.

And you believe Chuckles?

Try this for his level of truthfulness, right from the horse's anus:

Or this headline from January 5, 2025:

quote:
Huffpost.com: Chuck Schumer Denies Misleading Public About Biden's Decline Despite Watching Proof On-Air
Schumer was confronted Sunday on NBC with footage in which he decried the idea of President Biden's cognitive decline as "right-wing propaganda."

And you believe anything that spews from that GDCs pie hole?

ETA: And the only way you pay $5K in costs due to tariffs is is you buy foreign made goods.

Explain to me where there is any evidence that I side with Chuck Schumer or believe what he said.

READ MY FUCKING POST, ASSHOLE!!!!!

If you had you would have seen that it was a response to Trapper asking for a link to something that he didn't believe was said but was readily verifiable with even the briefest of searches - NOT that I was supporting or defending what Schumer was claiming.

Oh bullshit, more fake news MSM scare tactics. I don't recall them complaining about the massive Biden/Harris inflation costing consumers thousands and that is a fact.

Link?

For the record, I did the briefest of searches which is where I found the $300,000 per household to which I provided the link because that’s what we do here. We link news articles so members can read the stories for themselves and make up their own minds as to the veracity of the information and trust-worthiness of the source.

konata88 posted “The press is reporting things like it'll cost the average person $5000 more per year because of the tariffs.” I didn’t doubt this statement at all, but I did want to know who said it and how they came up with the number.

I’m not sure how I should have known to search for: “Chuck Schumer says tarrifs will cost $5,000 per person“ based on his post which nowhere mentions Schumer. Confused

I mean, I’m sorry. I certainly didn’t mean to cause controversy by asking for a link. Big Grin

Even leaving out Schumer's name I was able to find multiple sources to that information. It wasn't difficult at all and probably briefer than your search. Big Grin

To anybody complaining about the short-term pain of rising prices.... the tens of millions of jobs that will be generated by the tariffs will mean upward pressure on wages that will easily offset price increases. Look what happened to wages during COVID when a few million jobs opened up as restrictions eased.

My wife likes to go to the new library without kids in tow, sit in peace and quite and read for a couple of hours.

They were doing this nonsense outside the library.
Kids and dogs wearing outfits too, screeching about the nazis are taking away SS and other idiocy.

If the market drops 25% Monday I will load up like it’s the mother of all buying opportunities. I’ll sell blood to find money to buy. Especially in my kids brokerage accounts. When they are my age they will look back and say why didn’t you buy moar !!

That was good. I wish there were more Thomas Massie's in Congress. We're kind of screwed until there are. It's hard to be an honest congressman. You're ostracized for telling the truth.

I hope so. If so, it's too late to sell.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
