Congrats on your retirement, you earned it this time, and last time, and the time before that. Enjoy life all you can.
Funny,, after all your accomplishments you come home to be called an old fool. Nothing like a little levity.

Thank you for serving the United States and your community, you should be proud and you deserve it.

Congratulations. I'm impressed you worked for that long. My nephew retired just this year from SFPD with just the minimum tenure, I believe, and I don't blame him.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Well done.

That’s a long stretch of service and one you ended on your terms.

I have been retired for many years.

They dropped me off at the house and the Mrs. was sitting on the porch snapping beans. She said "About time you old fool". She gave me a hug and a kiss.

Life is good.

So enjoyed reading this Big Grin

So glad you are here and sharing with us.

Hoping you'll spend even more time with your grandson and the pups, despite the chances of another mini doxie biting you on the nose have been greatly reduced Wink

I appreciate the good thoughts but I didn't put it up for thanks.

You have to stand up for what you believe in, and sometimes, that comes with a cost.

Some of our children believe in the vaccine, some do not. We are respectful of each others decisions.

I still don't know how you did almost 50 years in Law Enforcement!?!?

Hell, I'm almost 51, and just went over 26 years of the "Cops and Robbers" game, and I'm about to cash out soon!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR DEDICATION!
My hat is off to you!
Please enjoy the hell out of retirement!

Ulsterman,
I join the others in extending congratulations and thanks for your retirement and years of public service.
We're the same age. I managed to retire back in the spring of '06 after both full military and civilian careers.
Health and family are the two most important things in retirement. Financial freedom is nice too but ranks far below these two in importance.
Enjoy!

A fine weapon. I’m sure very few noticed it nor appreciated it. Enjoy your well deserved retirement.
