i Have a p220 9mm with american mag release. Serial number on slide, frame and box all match. serial is G236 2xx. HOw can I find out more about this gun or if it was a 38super conversion. I assume with the matching serials it's not a rebranded 38super. Can anyone help?

No it doesn't have a rail.

It has rounded trigger guard - but the front trigger strap is checkered.

Slide says "stainless".

Was part of a batch of Texas Police Department guns.

I thought that most departments kept their guns longer than 10 years.

Any other info I can give you?

Thanks for your help.

Cool

Sounds good. Again that was just my educated guess based on the list and the P229s I own. Sounds like you go a real sweet P229 there. I love the ones without the rail.
