I've added your entry Zone15.

Frankly, I have no interest in maintaining the P229 list, and I've never touched it aside from adding it onto this thread.

cornman53 compiled that list initially on a separate thread, but I haven't seen him post in quite some time.
The original thread for the P229 list is now defunct.

I've posted before, asking if anyone would like to maintain the list for that particular model, but haven't received any responses.

Limited info on 229's .... so, anyone have a guess as to manufacture era of Serial Number AI 20465? Memory fails me as to date of purchase and receipts are in the 'big box' safely tucked away protected from fire. Darn banks are not open Sundays! Phooey! It's been back to SA once so grips are 3-03 and 11-03, but the little memory says, "bought in late 2000".

AI 12XXX above says, '10-98' and AI 27XXX says, '3-20', so I'm thinking after 1998 and before 2002.

Thought I had added these long ago. There's that memory again. Serial Number very close to one previously listed by 'kauphucup':

P228 ---- B151617 - KB - 11-29-1992 (New - bought in California) - Factory Nickle

P220 ---- G210233 - KD - 06-19-2003 (New - bought in California) - Factory Nickle

Uriah,

Uber props for a GREAT job on this. Believe it or not, I access the list a few times a week when I see this P6 or that 245...

I have a pretty late dated P6 to add:
M649-980
Date is 11/2001 and it has triple serial numbers.

Best regards,

Bill

Great S/N Thread, It will be of interest to many I'm sure, Thanks for doing it.

I will add a couple P220/P75 9mm S/N's

First is G 100 64x HG
RCI import Gander Mountain sale
I have noted some differance besides obvious compared to later versions, stamped smooth round trigger with a plastic insert support in pivot hole, dimension changes to breechblock, 8 coil FP spring vs. 13, slightly different Fire pin also, I have not tried but appears likely it would exchange with next P75 I have a 1984.
Rear sight is N+ and obvious is round snout

2nd P220 P75 G 132 06x NO Date code stamp (84?)
Cast trigger serrated, Rear sight N
This example has NO proof stamps anywhere, it does have the Geneva Crest on left side dust cover and BP reverse on Right side as well as on barrel.

These are very interesting to me and if anyone wants info to compare etc. just ask

I would like to report:

a Swiss police hand-in K-kote finished P228 produced in Germany, Kiel-proofed (KC; 1992) with Swiss proofs on barrel and frame. Imported to PW Arms, Redmond, WA (marked on left side of slide) presumably via SIG-Sauer GmbH (Eckernfoerde, DE). S/n = B159832. Issued to Aargau cantonal police as indicated by Aargau coat of arms on left side of slide.

I can get you a toe
