One can readily see that Roe V. Wade has become a religion with these nitwits that they can't even discuss rationally anymore.

Yes; and yes.

The current state of abortion law really has little to do with Roe v. Wade either. Do Courts recognize a State interest in protecting life in the third and even second trimesters?

(c) For the stage subsequent to viability the State, in promoting its interest in the potentiality of human life, may, if it chooses, regulate, and even proscribe, abortion except where necessary, in appropriate medical judgment, for the preservation of the life or health of the mother. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

BHO to endorse him today.

Well, you've got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.

Who wouldn't want his endorsement?

Not to mention rich. I wonder what Obama's commission was on the $1.7 Billion US cash he sent to Iran (in the interest of peace of course).

Iran- for years the leader in state sponsored terrorism and obama sends them pallets of untraceable cash.

biden can't lean on the 8 years of the obama administration to promote his presidency.

Obama Convinced Bernie Sanders To Drop Out By Arguing That He Already Succeeded In Pushing Biden To The Left, New Report Says
Ashley Collman, Buisness Insider, 4/15/2020

Former President Barack Obama convinced Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders to drop out of the 2020 race over the course of four long conversations, according to a Tuesday report from The New York Times.

The Times reports that when it became clear that his former vice president, Joe Biden, would win the Democratic Party's nomination, Obama told a friend that he needed to "accelerate the endgame."

At the end of March, Obama made the first of four phone calls to the veteran independent senator.

Two people with knowledge of their interactions told the Times that Obama told Sanders that he had succeeded in pushing the Democratic Party and Biden to the left.

Mostly, though, Obama listened to Sanders reflect on the campaign and talk about what he planned to do next, the sources said.

Sources close to Sanders said that these calls played an important role in him ending his presidential bid last week and endorsing Biden on Monday. Obama followed suit on Tuesday with his stirring (sic - IC) endorsement of Biden.

Biden is now the presumptive Democrat nominee but won't officially be crowned until the party's convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which has been delayed due to the coronavirus crisis until August at the earliest.

http://www.yahoo.com/news/obam...-drop-101206105.html

I don't know who this makes look sillier: Obama, for thinking that he had anything to do with a foregone conclusion despite having played no role in the primary whatsoever, or Sanders, for looking like he just needed to have his ego stroked and perhaps vent a bit before emotionally adjusting to the inevitable.

The silliest part is that this could have, at the very least, been presented in a much more politically effective way. Stir up a little drama by the odd leak to the press, maybe pretend to have an argument on the second call just so the little old ladys could get their hankies out and dab at their eyes, then SHAZAAM! Instant resolution to the crisis, Bernie gets to strut about like the Dems owe him big for nobly conceding and Obama gets to pretend that he's already the grand old man of the Democrat Party. Hell, if Bernie was really sharp he would've gotten O to publicly commit to ensuring Biden would carry Bernie's water on a couple of specific issues.

Instead this comes off like a couple of chicks disappearing into the womens' bathroom at the bar for a few minutes, and then coming back out and not saying a word.

He is the “Presumptive Nominee” until it is made official at the convention; or by the extraordinary method of having the DNC declare him as such if the convention doesn’t come about.

AOC Calls Out Hypocritical Response To Biden Sexual Assault Allegation: 'Believe Women....Until It Inconveniences Us'
Tobias Hoonhout, National Review 4/15/2020

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) criticized the lack of mainstream discussion surrounding the recent sexual assault allegation against Joe Biden made by former Senate staffer Tara Reade, calling the situation a "silencing of all dissent" that amounted to "a form of gaslighting."

"I think it's legitimate to talk about these things. And if we want, if we again want to have integrity, you can't say both believe women, support all of this, until it inconveniences you, until it inconveniences us," Ocasio-Cortez said in response to a question during an online conversation Tuesday night with The Wing, a networking and community space for women.

She added that the dismissing of allegations was the "exact opposite of integrity," after the Biden campaign categorically denied the allegation and caused the New York Times to retroactively edit its coverage of the allegation after complaining "that the phrasing was awkward." The Time's coverage came nearly three weeks after the story was first reported, while CNN has yet to detail the allegations.

"It almost felt like we started this cycle where we had kind of moved on from, you know, from all of this. And now it feels like we're kind fo back in it," Ocasio-Cortez said. "And, you know, the most diverse field we've ever seen - that we're kind of back kind of replaying old movies in a way."

Ocasio-Cortez revealed on Wednsday that the Biden campaign had reached out to her after she told the Times in an interview that she had never spoken with the former vice president, but would not say if she would endorse Biden's campaign.

The freshman congresswoman, who is up for reelection in November, has clashed with Biden in the past. She said the former vice president would not be a "pragmatic" choice as the Democratic 2020 presidential nominee in June before endorsing Senator Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.). After Biden implied in December that Ocasio-Cortez did not represent the mainstream position of the Democratic Party, the New York progressive fired back by saying the party was "too big of a tent."

"In any other country, Joe Biden and I would not be in the same party, but in America, we are," Ocasio-Cortez told New York Magazine.

http://news.yahoo.com/aoc-call...biden-170758373.html

And than you, AOC, for not only turning this into a progressive-moderate fight, but insisting that all the old farts who've spent all their lives in the Dem party have no place in your Dem party and need to find somewhere else to be! Too big a tent, indeed! Now hammer that bastard for sexual exploitation so you can rebuild the party in your image - in the middle on a presidential election campaign, no less. After all, this is the strategically perfect moment 'cause, like, you know, they have to give you what you want so they can get on with the presidential election.

Also for the “A stopped clock is right twice a day” file.
I wouldn’t think of interrupting an enemy while she (they) is/are making a mistake, but I will at least give AOC credit for the courage and consistency of her convictions this once—unlike the rest of that slimy gang.
