The silliest part is that this could have, at the very least, been presented in a much more politically effective way. Stir up a little drama by the odd leak to the press, maybe pretend to have an argument on the second call just so the little old ladys could get their hankies out and dab at their eyes, then SHAZAAM! Instant resolution to the crisis, Bernie gets to strut about like the Dems owe him big for nobly conceding and Obama gets to pretend that he's already the grand old man of the Democrat Party. Hell, if Bernie was really sharp he would've gotten O to publicly commit to ensuring Biden would carry Bernie's water on a couple of specific issues. Instead this comes off like a couple of chicks disappearing into the womens' bathroom at the bar for a few minutes, and then coming back out and not saying a word. | |||
