It is with mixed emotions that I see Bernie leave the contest. While it does eliminate any chance that Communist could be elected President (I think he'll be dead by 2024), it does still Leave Biden running. Biden is a bumbling fool, probably senile/Altzheimers, and couldn't make a rational decision about anything. I like to think that President Trump could beat him in a fair Election, but I'm not willing to concede that the Democrats will allow it to be fair and honest--they know that they can't win that way. With COVID under way they've put stuff in the money bill that enables more vote-by-phone and other methods that make cheating easier (and inevitable). I know that Para doesn't want us to be pessamistic, but I do have real concerns. We Trump supporters must see that he is elected.

Well, the Dems now have all their eggs in one, 77-year-old basket.

Will be interesting to see if he campaigns, risking exposure to the creeping crud, or stays back and safe.

My concern is that the Democratic Party will push for everyone to vote by mail -

Make it absurdly easy to stack the deck. “We got xx number of votes for Joe and only x for Trump”.

IIRC a few years ago there were voting districts that counted more votes than they had registered voters, and the Dem count was 100%, the Repub count was 0%. And you think there might have been some manipulation?

That's what I'm wondering about. How are the crazies going to react to Bernie essentially throwing them under the bus. Hopefully a big group of Leftist Dem's opt to try and burn the party to the ground.

Oh, the howling effort to move Biden to the left has already begun apace.

Excerpts from "By Picking Joe Biden, Democrats Are kissing Their Future Goodbye" by David Klion, The Daily Beast, 4/7/20:

"The fact that Joe Biden is beating Sanders by two-to-one margins across the country conceals equally consistent fact of a stark generational divide within the Democratic primary electorate, with Sanders winning voters under 45 by blowout margins (unfortunately for him, there are far more voters over 45 and Biden is winning them by even bigger margins). A recent ABC News/Washington Post poll showed that strong enthusiasm for Biden among his supporters is the lowest of any Democratic nominee in 20 years, and dramatically trails enthusiasm for Donald Trump among his supporters - a sign, perhaps, of the dangers of nominating a candidate who has completely failed to connect with the younger voters who helped propel Barack Obama to the presidency. At a moment where young people are experiencing radical upheaval, the Democrats are once again promising more of the same...

The moment when these divisions within the party might have been addressed was at this summer's planned Democratic National Convention two hours north of Chicago (likely faster in quarantine traffic) in Milwaukee. Unfortunately, the coronavirus makes the prospect of gathering tens of thousands of people around an urban convention center a nonstarter, as Biden himself acknowledged this week, proposing instead an unprecedented virtual convention compatible with social distancing.

While the public health rationale for this is hard to dispute, it also represents a lost opportunity for Sanders supporters to make our voices heard and to force Biden and the rest of the Democratic establishment to acknowledge and court us. Instead of traveling to Milwaukee to demand radical changes to the social contract in person, we will be relegated to taking potshots on social media while Biden and his chosen speakers deliver empty rhetoric to empty rooms."

How are the crazies going to react? A shot has formally been fired across Biden's bow, so maybe we'll see soon. From "Progressive Groups Demand Changes From Joe Biden After Bernie Sanders' Withdrawal", by Daniel Marans, Huffpost, 4/8/2020:

"Eight youth-heavy progressive groups challenged former Vice President Joe Biden to adopt a host of left-leaning policy stances in order to earn the support of the young voters who overwhelmingly supported Sen. Bernie Sanders."

These demands include:
- Biden signing on to "Medicare For All"
- Biden empowering the federal government to manufacture generic drugs
- Biden backing tuition-free public college
- Biden backing a higher wealth tax
- Biden backing a $10 trillion "green infrastructure bill"
- Biden "working to" halve the number of people in prison
- Biden "setting a goal" to cut deaths by gun violence in half
- Biden backing legislation that would require congressional authorization for any war
- Biden supporting BOTH the abolition of the filibuster and the expansion of the Supreme Court
- Biden appointing elected officials who backed Sanders or Warren as leaders of his transition team
- Biden pledging not to appoint Wall Street executives, corporate lobbyists or anyone connected to the oil, health insurance or private prison industries to any role in his transition team or administration
- Biden to put a "trusted progressive" in charge of hiring for the White House

So, just to open the ball, the kids don't trust him because having a "virtual" convention means they can't buttonhole anyone, hold die-ins, or have a lovely riot in downtown Milwaukee. And there's no chance Biden will give in to any REAL demands, because he'll be reduced to a figurehead by essentially turning his Presidency over to Sanders' supporters.

It sounds to me like Biden's written off the kids and progressives this time around, but I guess we'll see what kind of tone-deaf, heavy-handed and utterly misdirected efforts he makes towards roping some of them in.

In all likelihood, that person will be the president in the first 4 years.

Watch out for our Governor, Gretchen Whitmer to get the nod.

This is the Governor when asked in the debates if it was true that to accomplish her agenda to “Fix the damn roads” she wanted a twenty five cent a gallon rise in the fuel tax. She denied this.

After she won she then stated “The problem is worse than I thought. We need a forty five cent a gallon increase” which got shot down in the Republican dominated legislature. She said that any proposal other than that increase was unacceptable. Then she uses executive power to sell bonds for the road funding.

What gets me, she didn’t know the problem was that big? And she is running the state and makes statements without research?

Not to mention her battles with President Trump of recent days. Her blocking of experimental drug usage to treat Covid? Her only medical training was that her father was the head of Blue Cross of Michigan twenty some years ago. So apparently she knows more than researchers.

Look into her administration’s handling of the Flint water crisis and the A.G. dropping all charges in the case that were to be refiled. This was last June, A.G. Nessel said the charges were flawed and would be dismissed to be refiled at a later time. My thoughts are political, probably getting too close to Dems that they need.

The waffling chicken is in the news again: Anxious to endorse but hasn't yet. obama's been the kiss of death to many a campaign. Hopefully he'll remind everyone how pathetic a president he was.

How about a good belly laugh. This is what the NYT editorial group (i.e. Retard Central) is suggesting Biden do. No, really. This would be Biden's 'Dream Team Cabinet'.

Article at the Link, but here's a great excerpt.

________________________________________

With those criteria, Biden could name his team of rivals. (I proposed an earlier version of this when the race for the nomination looked deadlocked, but the world has completely changed since.) My recommendations:

For vice president, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, former Health and Human Services Secretary Donna Shalala or Gov. Gina Raimondo of Rhode Island; for Treasury secretary, Mike Bloomberg; health and human services secretary, Bill Gates; secretary of oversight for the trillions of dollars in emergency coronavirus spending, to make sure it’s done fairly and productively, Elizabeth Warren.

Attorney general, Merrick Garland; homeland security secretary, Andrew Cuomo; secretary of state, Mitt Romney; defense secretary, Michèle Flournoy; labor secretary, Ro Khanna (who co-chaired Sanders’s campaign).

Secretary of national infrastructure rebuild, a new cabinet post, Walmart C.E.O. Doug McMillon; commerce secretary, former American Express C.E.O. Ken Chenault; O.M.B. director, Gov. Mike DeWine of Ohio; education secretary, Laurene Powell Jobs; U.N. ambassador, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

HUD secretary, Ford Foundation chief Darren Walker; Interior secretary, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico; energy secretary, Andy Karsner (a green Republican who led renewable energy for George W. Bush); E.P.A. administrator, Al Gore.

None.

Cuomo is the front-runner, and the Dems are going to push hard to make him a messianic figure throughout this pandemic and attempt to distance themselves from the extremists in the party. Biden has said he'll pick a women, the only one he gets along with is Klobachar.

I wonder if now that he’s withdrawn from the race, will Bolshevik Bernie return the remaining campaign funds he didn’t spend? I’m thinking not.
