I believe the reason is because the Democrat candidates aren’t campaigning to be elected President at this point, but against each other for the nomination.

Agreed. Right now they are just trying to "one-up" or "out-Democrat" one another.

My paranoid self believes this is all nothing but political theater. I think the fix is in for Bloomberg to be the nominee. The DNC is already bending rules to his advantage. Dems have managed to position everyone else as each slightly crazier than the other.

Bloomie will be presented as the voice of reason amid the chaos and the only one who can save the world from Trump.

And I hope beyond hope that when the DNC, once again, screws Burnie up the poop shoot, it drives EVERY ONE of his supporters to either stay home or pull the lever for President Trump.

Bernie Sanders Excommunicates Pro-Life Democrats: Being Pro-Choice Is ‘Absolutely Essential’

MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) closed the door on pro-life Democrats Saturday night at a presidential forum called “Our Rights, Our Courts,” hosted by the Demand Justice Initiative, the Center for Reproductive Rights and NARAL Pro-Choice America.

The forum was focused on so-called “reproductive rights” per New Hampshire Democratic National Committee members Kathy Sullivan and Bill Shaheen, according to local media in the state, giving candidates the opportunity to speak on “the threat to our courts and our reproductive rights,” per an interview Sullivan gave with WMUR.

Every candidate for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination expressed unqualified support for abortion rights during the four-hour event, but Sanders was confronted, pointedly, about the “problem” of Democrats who are committed to opposing abortion, many of whom have expressed support for the Vermont socialist.

He was brutal in his answer: pro-life Democrats have no place in the party.

WATCH:

Asked if there is “such a thing as a pro-life Democrat in your vision for the party,” Sanders answered that, “I think being pro-choice is an absolutely essential part of being a Democrat.”

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I've been pondering this for about the past week, and I'm not sure I'm buying into the Bloomy as nominee thing. The Dem party is really fractured right now, and Bernie losing the nomination to a billionaire who locked up a whole bunch of black people in New York would blow the party completely apart (not that that's a bad thing). I'm thinking if they nominate Bernie, he'll scare the hell out of independents and Wall Street, who will turn to the Republican party. If they nominate Bloomy, the Dem party implodes, half of that party either votes third party or doesn't vote at all, while independents split between Trump and Bloomy. Either way, the Dem party is a total mess, and they lose the general election.

Those particular Dem's aren't going anywhere. Instead, they're going to do as my Dem neighbor did in the last election. They're going to sit this one out.

I think that's right. They are really fractured right now, which is good for us.
As Biden self-destructs (which was predictable) his supporters are splitting 4 ways: Some are sticking with ol' Joe, hoping he can hang on, some are moving to Booty-gig, and some are now supporting Bloomberg or even Klobuchar.
As Warren self-destructs, on the other hand, most of her supporters are now with Bernie Sanders.
The longer Biden can hold on the better it is for Bernie.

What is REALLY happening in the Dem Party primaries?

Much keeps getting written about who is in the race to take on Trump. This is a FALSE NARRATIVE. They are NOT running for President. What’s really going on is to see which wing of the radical faction is going to lead what currently exists as the a Democrat Party over the edge of the event horizon and into the precipice of obscurity and non-existence.

Remember what Obama said days before the 2008 Election; “We are 5 days away from fundamentally transforming America”. You do NOT “transform” (change) what has been working all this time; you destroy it.

It’s “Mensheviks versus Bolsheviks”; both leading toward the same end (the overthrow of the existing system in USA). Mad

Bloomberg? The guy who got 0% of the votes in Iowa and isn't even on the NH, NV, or SC ballots because he entered the race too late?

Not likely.

He could, conceivably overcome all of that by winning a lot of delegates on Super Tuesday. That's his plan, anyway.
I doubt it too.

Iowa and NH doesn't mean shit.
I think it comes down to the commie vs the establishment.
Bernie will absorb Pocohantas when she dies, Bloomberg's money + Joe Bite-Me's demise will be absorbed.
Mayor Butt-Munch and Klovachar will dissipate into the wind.
Super T-day will tell the toll.
Just a hunch, is Gun Grab Mike worthy - hell no but it is how the left views him not me.

What happens if there's really no clear winner on Super Tuesday? Bernie didn't pick up all much of an advantage in the number of delegates he got from Iowa, and barely eked out a win in New Hampshire. Neither Bloomberg nor Steyer are showing any signs of getting major traction in California and Texas.

Enough 'favored' candidates have zoomed to the top of the pollsters' and media's list of candidates and crashed back down through the list afterwards that I'm beginning to think the Democrats, as a party, don't quite know what they want.

Voting for Bernie may just be the way voters are giving a finger to the establishment. Same way Republicans did when voting for Trump. Might just be anti-establishment sentiment
