These were actually from yesterday, but it was my first (and second) attempt at messing about with off camera flash at all. I have two pocketwizard transceivers, and a Canon 430 EX II flash.

That's a woodpecker...he's at his feeder. They eat bugs in the bark.

Pileated Woodpecker they generally like old dead trees to find bugs but there is some suet higher on the tree and I think he must have been up there but by the time I grabbed my camera he had wandered down. They are the size of a crow. We usually just have ladderbacks and the occasional red headed.

Keeping the 'more bird pics' theme going, here is one I took of a raptor at a neighbors house. I used a 300mm lens and cropped it quite a bit so it's grainy.

Anyone know what this is? I have no clue.
