Four episodes in and I’m enjoying it. Some of the side story/character development is a little slow, but the SAD team and the story lines behind them is well choreographed. Lots of 416s, suppressed SIG Rattlers and Crye Precision.

Watching it - I like it so far as well.
Of course the abundance of female and minority parts are abundant but a decent show nonetheless.

Been seeing lots of previews for the show. Might have to check it out...

Same, but was worried about it just being some nonsense so I had not clicked it yet.
Maybe we’ll watch after we finish Jack Ryan.

I've watched it so far

Saldana does an admirable job

IMO this is a much better series than the Jack Ryan series

I’ve been watching it but my interest is waning. The last two episodes I’ve paused somewhere in the middle and returned to it the next day.

It reminds me of The Unit which I liked in some respects.

Spoiler Alert ****

Spoiler Alert ****

Like she’s falling in love with the girl already??? Wtf. That does not even compute. There was no set up, no hints. Just the other girl starting to get turned on but even that doesn’t make sense. She’s afraid of being killed if she doesn’t marry but she doesn’t mind if she’ll get killed for being with another woman?

Now that you mention it, that was like the intro to a porno flick.
I could have done without the lesbo stuff too.

I"m gonna WAG this one, it's likely pressure from studio heads that 'representation' needs to be a pivotal or at least a major part of the script.

Nearly every production today is taking a page from the UK studios, where not only does half the cast must be women but, one of the main characters, and several 'good guy-boss characters' must be women/minority cast members. If done correctly, nobody notices, unfortunately, there's quite a few productions that ham-fist this diktat and their finished product looks like shit, predictably resulting in garbage ratings.

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

That last show is about as flimsy as a porn flick plot. I suppose it’s in line with the lesbian scenes they put together where the main character falls in love at the drop of a towel.

How unsophisticated can the writers be? The bridegroom has nothing better to do the night before his wedding than to do facial recognition on the friend of his wife to be? He didn’t have someone to do that for him? Like he’s a security/ investigator as a skill he learned?

Then she goes to the kitchen for water and the target who’s so security conscious, he’s got 50 security people with ultra security measures goes and gets his own water / ice cream all by himself?

And for added tension, the groom finally figures she’s a plant and somehow figures she’s in the kitchen but he rushes there all by himself???

About the only thing I appreciate is it was in the kitchen where knives would be handy and it loops back to Kidman’s line that she’s going to find a weapon in the environment.

But that was such a disappointment in storytelling.

Haven't watched because I'm tired of the unduly strong female lead formula.

But, I have to say, I never thought I'd see the day when more than one guy was complaining about too much girl-on-girl action. Razz

Well, in all fairness, it is called Lioness and it is really hard pulling off a convincing story about an all female program that is such a sausage fest of dudes running around. People would then be complaining about “Lioness” being a bunch of dudes in a chick flick.

But I agree with Rey, the last episode was like Sheridan said “Fuck it, I’m going to phone this one in”.

I've been not watching a lot of shows for this same reason. It's getting over the top ridiculous.

Yep, which begs the question, who is the target audience for such transparent pandering? Not actual viewers but rather fellow travelers and puppeteers like Blackrock. There have been so many productions like this, it looks like the trend will continue for some time.

Well, I for one enjoyed the show until the weak ending. Kinda the reason why I started this thread.

But, I guess I don’t get all the outrage about a show involving an all female unit actually being portrayed by females. I think I would be upset if it wasn’t. And couple that with the fact that I don’t have the need to find outrage in everything. Seems the life that some live must be exhausting.
