Guitarist Rick Derringer died last night at the age of 77. Most people here recognize him from his hit song "Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo", but he has played with a lot of other people as well, including Steely Dan. Great guitarist.

That’s sad news. Always liked his music and the project he did with DNA.

They got a lot of air time in Canada back in the early 80’s.

"Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo" is a classic rock station staple and a great one at that. He was an excellent guitarist and rock legend.

Sad to hear this, he created or helped create many great songs and a helluva guitarist. Keep rockin, Rick.

Rick was a second cousin (or something like that), I’ll always think of him as the guy I knew when I was a kid.
