I guess it depends upon the saxophone. For Alto, it's Paul Desmond. For Tenor..this is hard, but I'll slightly lean Sonny Stitt over Art Pepper. Baritone is hands-down Gerry Mulligan. Don't care for the sound of a soprano, so no favorite.
