I just finished reading the book again. I haven't read it since high school and forgot what a masterpiece it is. The movies could have easily been made into a trilogy just to cover the one book.

They want the actors out in front to promote the film while the rest are probably going to lose money.

I found myself in a movie theater yesterday for the second time this year. Thirty freaking minutes of ads and trailers, but the Dune 2 trailer was in there. Wow, just wow. It was the highlight of of my 2 1/2 hours in the theater yesterday. It wasn’t the trailer posted on page 2 here. The scale was amazing and made me wish I had seen the first one in the theater. It’s funny, but I honestly can’t remember a single other trailer.

I'm pumped for Part 2. I had to rewatch Part 1 the other day, to wash out the taste of Rebel Moon.

The second one, definitely the second one. Amazing on the big screen where it was almost as tall as it was wide.

I'm reasonable certain this movie is going to be huge:

'Dune: Part Two' demand crashes AMC's website and app
It's brutal out there.

January 26, 2024

Dune: Part Two seems like it is going to be a hit at the box office. Tickets for the film — which doesn't drop until March 1 — went on sale Friday and seemed to crash the AMC website and cause problems elsewhere, as well.

Down Detector noted that users had indicated AMC's website was having issues. Anecdotally, the app didn't seem to be any better.

Users reported getting an error message when they tried to get tickets to the highly anticipated film. Lots of people posted complaints about the problem online.

There did seem to be a rise in issues with Fandango as well, though Down Detector showed it wasn't nearly as severe. (In fact, it didn't register as an outage.) And that could have something to do with the fact that the bug was disproportionately affecting AMC A-list members who were signed into their AMC accounts on the website and the app.

It didn't seem like the problem had been fully resolved by about 3:30 p.m. ET Friday. Hopefully, fans will soon be able to get their tickets. Until then, they're likely stuck refreshing and hoping.

There's also a one night only showing of Dune Part 1 on IMAX and my theater was almost sold out the day of the announcement.

Saw it tonight. It is absolutely amazing. See it on the biggest screen and best sound you can.

1080p and 4k blu ray preorders already started today. Preordered the 4k disc. From what I read it should hit streaming mid April.
