When I first got interested in pop music as a kid in elementary school in the 60s, it was Motown, not white boy rock just yet. I had a few albums, but primarily bought 45s, played them on a cheap record player that had the 1 1/2" center spindle to stack the 45 discs. Loved Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, Jackson 5, Four Tops, etc. Like many things in life, they just don't make 'em like this anymore. "I’m not going to read Time Magazine, I’m not going to read Newsweek, I’m not going to read any of these magazines; I mean, because they have too much to lose by printing the truth"- Bob Dylan, 1965

This is from my teenage days. Didn’t appreciate them at the time, but they were the inspiration for a lot of later groups, including the Beatles. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

Yeah, that song has a certain je ne sais quoi. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Loved his songs as a kid and even more when I started playing drums and found out he did as well. He played for some of his songs too. Because son, it is what you are supposed to do.
