Saw the trailer for this movie tonight. My question...Could this movie have been cast any worse if they tried? What a great American story wasted on two clowns who have no business being anywhere near this piece of American motorsport history.

I want this to be good but I'm afraid they may have dramatized it too much. The actors may surprise me, I'll try to be open minded. I'm not sure why Matt Damon would want to be in a movie about gas guzzling, air polluting race cars. Shouldn't he be in something about renewable soy/electric/solar powered mass transit vehicles?

I watched a few documentaries on the Ford v Ferrari rivalry, so I'm hopeful that this is good. Planning on seeing it on the big screen, if for nothing else than for some good 60s LeMans car porn.
No real issues with Christian Bale for Ken Miles, but what beta male twat thought of Matt Damon as Carroll Shelby? It's the same director as Walk the Line and Logan, so it has a chance.

Damon will be a big distraction but probably not ruin the movie. Having just watched the excellent documentary, "The 24 Hour War" on Prime I'm very much looking forward to seeing this one.

Another +1 for The 24hr War. Excellent documentary. But, be warned if you don't know the history, there will be some spoilers.

Because, money. After all, the cars used on set were all electric.
Boy I disagree with some of you guys. I think the actors they chose are actually pretty damn good, and usually have great screen chemistry.
At some point I had to give up choosing my movies based on actor politics or I'd be stuck with Tom Selleck and John Voight.

Bale earned my respect as an ACTOR almost 20 years ago. He knows what he is doing. And one of the best around today, period. Damon on the other hand......

Its not about whether they're 'good' actors or not, its that they're the 'wrong' actors for this movie and character portrayal. Carol Shelby is iconic and a larger than life character who few actors could adequately portray on film. Matt Damon ain't one of them. And I personally think Bale is fail as well. These are just not the two guys would should be headlining this piece of history.

When it comes to movies, I put politics aside. Movies are for entertainment.
Matt Damon is a decent actor. So is Bale. Trailer looks pretty good. The story isn’t anything we all don’t know, but I think it’ll be better than another rerun of the Golden Girls.

My wife and I fired up the Shelby GT500 and went to see Ford vs. Ferrari last night. I had some concerns about Matt Damon playing Carroll Shelby, but I think he ended up doing great credit to him, and I am excited that a new generation will get to learn about this important part of history. Highly recommended.
Plus it was great to drive away from the theater with that supercharged V8 turning heads.

Good to see a positive review. Getting matinee tickets for Sunday morning. Reserved seating chart looks pretty empty, so hopefully it'll be void of teenagers.
Wife & I saw this Thursday night. We enjoyed it very much. I have been reading "Go Like Hell" for about a week getting ready. Wife said she was slap wore out from pulling on her seat trying to get those cars back on track. Intense.
