Going to need some guard rails though…

“Leonardo di Vinci's 500-year-old design that may have revolutionized the way bridges are built never left his sketchpad – until now.

MIT researchers have used the power of 3D printing to successfully create a replica of the overpass that was rejected for being too radical for its time.

The mini version was found to remain stable and strong without the use of any mortars or fasteners, which is how the Renaissance man had envisioned it…”

I bet he got the idea from the Eifel Tower.

The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People again must learn to work, instead of living on public assistance. ~ Cicero 55 BC

It's not known whether he deliberated for weeks on this design, or scribbled it in his notebook in less than a minute. He is neutralizing so many different counter-forces with this design, like his brain was a team of separate engineers. The design was so robust it probably would not need cement if the individual building blocks were made of stone.

Upon seeing this bridge model, most folks would think that it had been designed yesterday, rather than 500 years ago. And was destined for the MOMA.

I agree so modern looking. But not OSHA approved. No railings!

Give it to OSHA and it'd be ruined inside a week, lol. It's a beautiful design though, isn't it?
