Actor Michael K. Williams, dead at 54. The cause of death has not yet been determined, yet the vultures are making sure to point out he was found "surrounded by drug paraphernalia." A drug overdose probably is the cause of death, but "getting ahead" of the story like this is sleazy.

Dang Frown . Played one of the most iconic characters ever on television. And I just finished watching The Wire a month ago. Feels like we lost him twice in a month, both times felling like a 2x4 to the side of the head from the tragic unexpectedness of it. Very sorry to read this.

RIP, Mr. Williams.

Damn,
Omar died.

I liked the roles he played in The Wire and The Gambler.

I also enjoyed watching him in Hap and Leonard, that is a real shame.

Very weird. I just watched the final episode of Boardwalk Empire today after binging it for the first time. He was excellent as Chalky White and Omar. RIP.

I've been meaning to give The Wire a rewatch, looks like a great opportunity. He was awesome as Omar, and in Boardwalk Empire. I felt like he didn't quite fit, he gave off a more modern vibe, but it worked to show that divide of society.

This is a real bummer, he's gonna be missed.

I haven’t watched The Wire, I guess I will start that this winter. I became aware of him from Boardwalk Empire and thought he was terrific in that great series.

Michael K. Williams is a talent lost far too young. Loved him in The Wire and Boardwalk Empire. RIP

I watched him in both The Wire and Boardwalk. He was excellent in both although I preferred Chalky White by a little.
