Semper Fi - 1775![]() |
Just finished watching both season.. Season 1: When you think about it, nothing really happened, until the very end I guess. The use of music was fantastic to communicate the tension and stress; I think the woman who was in charge of the therapy center and befriended Jennifer Coolidge’s character was the only person I actually cared about. Season 2: Yeah so, someone must have given a note that there was not enough ‘sex’ in the first season. They more than made up for it in season 2…some I could have done without…but it was an interesting plot twist. Porsche, Ethan and Harper I genuinely cared about. The rest of them for the most part, had no redeeming value; I’ll admit I got fooled by a couple of them…well played. Loved the cinematography in this season, used great visualization to convey so many emotions. Definitely my favorite season of the 2 and the reason who ended up washing up on the beach, was not the person whom I expected to. Looking forward to season 3. ___________________________ All it takes...is all you got. ____________________________ For those who have fought for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

I liked both seasons about the same. Good not great TV. Visually, the scenery on a really nice TV was fantastic.

If you didn’t like that scene, I can promise that you’d HATE the similar “type” scene towards the end of Season 2. ___________________________ All it takes...is all you got. ____________________________ For those who have fought for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

White Lotus is back. Don’t remember much of the previous two seasons but the luxurious hotels. Wife and i enjoyed the series mostly if you can fast forward the unnecessary outrageous sex scenes. Looking forward to enjoy Thailand for the extremely wealthy 0-0 "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20

Parker Posey’s “southern accent” is awful in season 3, I don’t know why they just didn’t tell her to use her regular voice or recast the role if she can’t do better.

I remember her from “best in show” and I (obviously) was supposed to not like her- and I just can’t shake that! __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

She’s grew up in Monroe, LA and Laurel, MS… she knows what she’s doing. I know plenty of people that sound like that. Especially ladies on antidepressants and booze. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

Sounds like she is attempting a Carolina accent but it is just missing the mark imo.

No, not like Bill Clinton ![]() |
I don't have a problem with her accent, it's the English dude playing her husband. I hear his English accent coming out occasionally

See, I think he is spot on a Charleston accent. Mike White had them all watch Southern Charm and he based his accent on Thomas Ravenal. Obviously, he’s supposed to be from Chapel Hill NC, which his accent doesn’t match, but it’s legit for what it is, imo. I feel like Brits often get southern accents better than non-Southern Americans. Regardless, I think Parker Posey’s character is hilarious. The English accent definitely creeps in his dialogue. So I am thinking Walton Goggins character is going after the Thai ladies husband Scott Glenn. I’m guessing he may have killed his father and may try and kill him.

Season 3 ended last Sunday. I got hooked last month and hammered through the first two seasons so I could enjoy the 3rd, live every week. LMAO more at this series than any other in recent memory. Probably going all the way back to Deadwood as far as hilarious (this is black comedy however). Plenty of lovely looking women to look at. The gay stuff was a bit much to take but in context of the series, it was tolerable. The series as a whole, is best in class IMO. HBO continues to deliver in spades. What am I doing? I found season 3 to be like watching the Love Boat. Terrible ending with little thought, like, lets just hurry up and end this thing.

Being somewhat vague to avoid overt spoilers: I enjoyed S3 quite a bit. Did not like that ‘he’ caused the death of ‘her’…but she did say that she was destined to have whatever fate she has. It was interesting to see how money changed ‘her’. Suddenly she did not need her new found love, she has money now. Time to go back to the states and see what’s out there. I thought the relationship between the 3 women friends was very realistic. My wife often jokes (somewhat joking) that she avoids female friend groups for the very reason they showed..always talking about ‘the other’ when one is not around. ___________________________ All it takes...is all you got. ____________________________ For those who have fought for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

Mixed feelings on Season 3. It had some really epic highs but a few faceplants. All-in-all, solidly entertaining which makes it have value in this era. I think Parker Posey's character was the most consistent and the most consistently entertaining.

Parker said she had waited 20 years for that role. https://www.eonline.com/news/1...ed-20-years-for-role She nailed the entitled trophy North Carolina housewife like a mother fucker. “He went to Duke, I went to Chapel Hill” or was it vice versa? I mean she Babe Ruthed this role. My favorite was her talking to the Thai hos, trying to pull them away from the old bald white men only to have the hos lash back at her “I love him.” LMAO. Her and Jason Isaacs nailed the dialect. Jason was the dude in the Patriot with Mel Gibson so I know his native English is thick as fuck. For him to pull this accent off 90% of the time, unreal. A damn good actor. This season wasn’t as good as S1 or S2 but these 2 actors had me the entire S3. He stole that gun and after that you just didn’t know WTF was going to happen. Really good writing. “Ah-nold’s” son, Patrick, with that got damn blender only for Jason to grab those fruit seeds and blend it in there, almost killing his other son, LMAO. Mike White is a sick, twisted fuck, to write all this. Patrick Schwarzenegger played his role to a Tee as well. The North Carolina family carried the season down to the hot daughter going entitled at the end not wanting to eat the food or deal with the poor living conditions. Michelle Monaghan being in this was the motivation to get through all 3 seasons. She’s got damn Helen of Troy to me. That one EP when she is in the bikini and you could take a 2 X 4 across her stomach, and that wood would break.. oh my she is a good looking woman, and super fit ![]() What am I doing?
