Yes, I'll see it.

I like Indiana Jones. I am a fan of Crystal Skull, even though they botched that ending. I am curious to see what no-Spielberg and no-Lucas will do with that character, even if it's lame.

And, I still love the theatrical experience, just like Nicole Kidman says. I'm also addicted to that tasty sludge they put on movie popcorn. If only I could get some of that at home! Tuesday night is cheap night—admission is only six bucks!

When it comes out streaming or what ever for $5 or something on amazon. I'll probably watch it out of nostalgia. But thats it.

I am with corsair on this one as I have been following all of the YouTube stuff on this for some time now. As an addition to corsair's post, here is The Critical Drinker's actual review of the movie that he posted about an hour ago. It's one of his best pieces to date.

I have to say it but I watched this Critical Drinker's review and I think he has the same problem the folks that made this new Indy movie did... no concept of when to stop, shut up and call it the end.

I'll wait to see it on streaming, if I see it at all. Depends on the reviews. I am not hopeful.

Depends on the weather. I'm off for the holiday weekend and if its humid all weekend, I might give my local theatre $5 to sit in their AC for a couple hours as my house has no central air. Might not pay much attention to the movie though. Never been much of an Indy fan.

Looks like this dog will not even pull in the previously projected dollars that Disney predicted, down to $55-60 million for the three-day weekend, from a low estimate of $65 million. As a comparison, Top Gun Maverick grossed $127 million in its opening weekend, Super Mario Bros $145 million. Way to go Disney.

Harrison Ford, in my opinion, has gotten worse in acting over the years when you should be getting better.
He was great in Star Wars, Raiders, Blade Runner and Last Crusade. Everything else I can think of is just mediocre.
I cant blame him entirely since directors and fellow actors can have an impact on movies as well.

Don't forget his roll in American Graffiti as the hick from the sticks that wrecks his car at the end.

Tom Hanks is what Harrison Ford could've been, granted Hanks is younger however, their career arc is similar. Ford was big in the 80's then had even greater success in the 90's with hit after hit, he was the #1 actor for that decade.
The 2000's to present though, he's gotten into a bunch of disappointments, reprised his most famous characters on a few movies, and a few interesting projects like Cowboys & Aliens, and The Age of Adeline. Hanks meanwhile continues to churn out solid, everyman rolls, many of which have historical background, while also having great success as a voice actor with Woody from Toy Story; Ford lately has dipped into odd rolls like Morning Glory, Ender's Game and Paranoia.

I went to see it. Just me. Wife didnt want to get out. but I have seen all of them in the theater so I decided to go.

Is it Raiders? no.
Is it Grail? no.

But is it fun? Yes,
I had fun watching it. I liked what they use as the McGuffin this time, it was more fun than the stupid crystal skull. And I liked the sidekick more than I did Shia Lefoof. So all in all, I had fun.

I enjoy Critical Drinker, but I think sometimes he gets too sensational. I did not find Harrison nearly as fragile as he claimed, and did not notice the woke "message" as he puts it. And the CGI of him as a young man was incredible.

so yeah, it is a B movie. and I found it entertaining. There are some little things too, like they use the same sound effect for His punches that they used in Radiers.

I do not go to theaters lightly anymore, even in this one I went to a 'new' old theater that had recliners. a guy fell asleep during the 30 minutes of previews and had to be escorted out. I kid you not, he was snoring so loud everyone was laughing. If you have sleep apnea that bad, do not recline in a dark theater.

I read from several sources that they have an extensive collection of used footage from Raiders/Temple of Doom/Grail that they used and the CGI was very minimal. That's actual Harrison Ford you are seeing, not some de-aged CGI voodoo.
