James Reece is back! Been waiting a LONG time for this. I thoroughly enjoyed "True Believer" and I have high hopes for the season.

The Navy SEALs behind ‘The Terminal List’ break down the new season’s sniper battle

A sniper battle that highlights the new season of the Amazon Prime thriller starring Chris Pratt was the brainchild of three former SEAL snipers behind the show.

Matt White
Published Oct 21, 2026 3:42 PM EDT

As Gabriel Luna sprawls behind a custom sniper rifle on a balcony overlooking a port city, he pulls out a leather-bound notebook and opens it to a simple range card with half-circles across the top.

Two miles away, a team of two snipers hidden amid the city clutter sits behind their own hyper-customized rifles, sighting in on a podium just below Luna. The American president will soon appear to give a speech, and it will be Luna’s job to protect him.

But unlike Luna, the two assassins have sophisticated targeting computers mounted on their guns, receiving precise information — 8-digit coordinates, wind and humidity — from a spotter hiding in the president’s crowd.

Without a word of dialogue, the stakes and contrasts of a climactic sniper battle in the second season of Amazon’s “The Terminal List” are set: The bad guys will be shooting with every advantage of technology, while Luna, playing a CIA officer and former Navy SEAL, will face them with just a pencil, an Army Form 5517-R “standard range card,” and his own instincts and skills...

I decided to rewatch season 1 due to the amount of time elapsed since I first watched it. I forgot how annoying I found the low-key lighting used almost exclusively during those episodes.

I don't see that it added anything to the series and found that it made the episodes rather difficult to watch.

Mood lighting I guess? Damn annoying... see it in many shows / movies.

Even like in an office building, middle of the day, sunny outside, plenty windows, damn near dark inside.
Seems to be a fad... I despise it. It's dumb.

The meeting in the admiral's office was a prime example. It was like viewing the scene through a stack of neutral density filters which were stacked on until only the highlights were barely visible.

I'm guessing a Season 3 is definitely in the works. And a Mo spin-off would be doable as well.

I'm rewatching S1 and you guys are right. Crank up the brightness and the closed captioning will blind you. There seems to be quite a few shows that have to be watched in total darkness with the screens brightness cranked up and it is annoying.

Just finished season 2 and thought it was excellent. They haven't made an announcement yet, but it sure looks like there will be a Season 3.

There will absolutely be a season 3. Season 1 was Amazons biggest show ever, at least when it originally aired it was.

I also finished season 2 today, agree I think it was great. Wont post any spoilers, but Goddamn...Piano Wire.

Yeah, the warning at the beginning of episode 6 is real. Most of the torture scenes are nothing terrible, but don't watch the piano wire if you're squeamish. I should have known better.
