I was heading out to run an errand and this idea for discussion came to me when I heard Jumping' Jack Flash come on the radio. Well over played, but I still really like it and then I started thinking of others. Tangled Up In Blue came to mind and guess what song played next? Yes, I shit you not, Tangled Up In Blue! I love when these synchronicities happen.

Anyway, here are a few over-played songs that I still enjoy:

Living in the Past

Wish You Were Here

Almost any Beatles song except Hey Jude. I'd rather never hear that again. Big Grin

Message in a Bottle

Won't Get Fooled Again / Behind Blue Eyes

Back in Black / Highway to Hell

Old Man

Suite: Judy Blue Eyes

Under the Bridge

I'm sure there are more...

All of these songs I still listen to today...

More Than A Feeling- Boston. Played to death, perhaps one of the three most over played songs on FM and classic rock radio, but I still nod my head while listening to the chorus.

Every Breath You Take- The Police. One of the most played songs streaming and also overplayed on radio, it is nonetheless a great song and I never tired of it.

Rikki Don't Lose That Number- Steely Dan. This and some other songs from the duo, they still sound fresh and new.

Roundabout- Yes. The musicianship still blows me away.

Baba O'Reilly- The Who. This never gets old, no matter the hundreds of times I heard it.

The entire “Dark Side of the Moon” album. I’ve played it via vinyl, 8 track, cassette, CD… several hundred times, at least. Now that you’ve brought up this topic I’m going to play it first thing tomorrow.
