On February 3, 1959, American rock and roll musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and "The Big Bopper" J. P. Richardson were all killed in a plane crash.

The crash site is about two hours NW of us, we visited several years ago. It's very sad.

I was only 10 when it happened and knew nothing about Rock 'N Roll, but I have vague memories of the news coverage and pictures of the crash site.

Thanks for posting this. Now it will be days before I can get "American Pie" out of my head! Eek
