It seems that Paramount+ has all the late 80s early 90s Nickelodeon shows and want to watch with the boys because so many of these new kids shows are just complete woke garbage!
I was perusing the site and it also mentions that they have Champions League Soccer Live.
Are past matches available on demand?
My boys are always asking to watch soccer and it is hard to find streams of full matches.

$60 for the year would not be terrible for some old Nickelodeon nostalgia alone but throw in some soccer matches would seal the deal.

Paramount + has champions league, Europa league, Serie A and some USMNT matches. As sig 226 noted, you can watch replays of full matches as well.

They also have some exclusive series that are pretty good. Tulsa and RabbitHole are a couple examples.

Yes, I’ve had it since Jan of last year when I took down the satellite dish.

I pay for the sub because you get Showtime with it and got a deal. Apparently they are taking down the Showtime app later this year and merging the Showtime stuff into the Paramount app some how.

Streaming stuff is already a pain in the ass, but these companies keep fucking with their shit. HBO Max turned into Max, a new app. Epix just turned their shit into MGM+. Now Showtime alerts me that Paramount+ is the new streaming home of Showtime. Geez let’s over complicate every got damn thing in existence. Man I hate marketing. Sorry for the rant.

I watched Tulsa King on Paramount, good series, and probably 2-3 films a year that release on their app. But that’s about it. What I want to watch vs. what they offer are largely very different. But for those interested more in the Paramount content they offer you’ll be getting Showtime soon with it.

Yes, but for other programing.
I have no interest in soccer so couldn't tell you anything about that.
My current favorite is Joe Pickett which is a little like Longmire.
The storyline is pretty well written.

I have it, but only because I got a coupon for 3 months free. I plan to cancel it before I get billed in August.

My main complaint is that for inexplicable reasons, and unlike every other streaming platform, Paramount+ only supports multi-channel surround sound audio on certain specific devices, including Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, or Fire. On everything else, it's stereo only.

Neither my Xbox One X or my LG TV are supported by Paramount+ for surround audio. So I'm stuck with just stereo audio, rather than being able to use my full Atmos/5.1 surround system like I can with every other streaming service.

Utterly baffling, and makes watching movies on Paramount or Showtime pointless.

Rogue you just have to bite the bullet and get an Apple TV. It’s way better than using native OS off a panel, any panel. The great thing about the ATV, is Dolby Vision, Atmos, it will do everything.

Nope. There is not enough content on Paramount that interests me to justify paying for a sub, let alone investing in additional hardware just to watch one streaming service's content with its full capabilities. I'll stick to the (many) other alternative streaming services, and every other streaming service supports Dolby Vision, Atmos, 4K, HDR, 5.1, et al in their respective apps. Paramount is the only outlier that's limiting these higher quality formats to just a handful of platforms. There's no reason why they couldn't support them on others (like every other service), they just choose not to.

The confusing part is that Paramount isn't getting anything out of this decision. In fact, it's costing them subscribers. If, for example, Amazon decided one day they would only support high end audio and video formats with Prime Video on their own Fire devices, that might make sense, because they'd be incentivizing people buying Amazon's own proprietary hardware. But Paramount doesn't own a stake in Apple/Android/Roku/Fire.

And it's not even like they don't support these other platforms like Playstation/Xbox/various panel OSs/etc... They still have the Paramount+ app for all of them, they just won't allow high quality audio or video formats with them, instead limiting those viewers to just 1080p and 2.0!

As I said, a baffling decision, especially in light of literally every other streaming service choosing otherwise.

So, I have read/am reading the books.
I caught one season of the Series that I thought was done by Spectrum maybe it was pretty low budget and had the weird guy from The Patriot as Joe. I watched it because I read the books or else I likely would have turned it off.
Did someone else pick up the series?

As for Rogue’s mention of the limited media on certain devices that is a bit of a bummer as my main while quite dated home theater uses the XBOX One to stream.
However, these old 80s and 90s Nickelodeon shows and soccer matches won’t matter much with that. We’ll see how much we watch after we burn through the Nickelodeon shows to see if I renew a 2nd year.

We have the $5.99 subscription and use it for watching Bull and other shows, we like it so far.

I originally wanted to get it to watch the various new Star Trek shows on there, but I keep reading how they are so insufferably woke that I’ve been scared to even start. Maybe Strange New Worlds soon.

Picard Season 3 (only) is worth watching. You don't need to have seen the previous two seasons, as there's little to no tie-in with the earlier events, and the handful of important stuff that happened earlier is re-explained for new viewers. You can dive right in to Season 3 and be just fine.

Lower Decks is worth checking out too. While it's a slapsticky parody cartoon, it's aimed at adults not kids, it's faithful to Trek lore, and it's absolutely jam-packed with easter eggs and references for hardcore fans.

Definitely avoid Discovery. That's where most of the complaints about woke themes and terrible writing in new Trek series stem from.

I haven't tried Strange New Worlds yet. It's supposed to be better than Discovery. But TOS is my least favorite of the OG Trek series, and further adventures during that same era don't hold much interest for me. I'm more of a TNG/DS9/VOY era guy.

I had the minimal subscription, (don't know what it's call but inexpensive) I never watch it and cancelling is a chore. I'm to the point where I'm considering changing my Apple credit card number so these bastards will stop billing me.

That’s fine man. It was just a suggestion. I’ve read the AVS forum for as long as I have this one, or more. The general consensus by many is make your panel dumb. As long as the software rev on it isn’t causing PQ or SQ issues, disable it from getting on the internet. And use your preferred stand alone device for streaming services. A panel OS is not as good as a stand alone one.

The series Strange New Worlds is the best Star Trek on par with TOS.

I do believe Anson Mount is keeping it violent and unwoke.

Joe Pickett just released Season 2.
Never heard of the books so Paramount + was where I was introduced.
As far as "low budget" ~ the budget was never on my mind and seems to be professionally done but I am not impressed by big-budget productions with CGI or similar. Eek

One warning - that promo rate is with commercials. They have a package for slightly more without commercials. I think.

I subscribe to a 247Sports website, which is owned by CBS Sports. With that, we get a Paramount+ subscription free.

I love it because I can watch the Champions League and Europa League matches, and now with Pulisic going to AC Milan, I will watch Serie A.

There are also a good deal of series and movies to fill in the gaps.

How much is 247sports and does your Paramount+ have the commercials.
