Jake Gyllenhaal-Starring ‘Road House’ Reboot Gets Green Light at Prime Video

Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo and Lukas Gage are also cast.

Oscar and Tony-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal is officially set to star in “Road House,” a reimagined take on the classic movie starring Patrick Swayze, for Amazon’s Prime Video.

I can just imagine what a "reimagined" Roadhouse will look like Sadly (or luckily?), I won't find out, because we don't have Amazon Prime anymore.

Yeah, because the remakes of Red Dawn and Point Break were such smashing successes.

Please leave the 80’s and 90’s cheese alone. It works for a reason. It doesn’t need fixing.

It's not a question of whether Jake can do it, it's what today's woke Hollyweird culture and the uber-woke Amazon will do to it.

C’mon Hollywood Roll Eyes

Enough with the shitty “superhero” movies and crappy remakes already. Are you seriously that bankrupt of fresh and new ideas?

Patrick Swayze, Ben Gazzara and Jeff Healey are all dead so they can't reprise their roles. Sam Elliot and Kevin Tighe are still with us, though. Same with Kelly Lynch and Kathleen Wilhoite.

I highly doubt that they will again fill a gingham dress so very well, so what's the point in this effort?

Should have just been a stand alone movie rather than a remake. Shit, look at fast and the furious, they've made like 20 of those movies and $100B in revenue, its the same story just different names.
