Surprised at this, not too long ago I read an interview with him and he seemed to be in great health. He was a great guitarist, very humble, though.

“Play it, Steve!”

I know that among musicians, he earned the highest respect. Sorry to read this report of his death.

In this performance of their signature song, “Green Onions,” Booker T takes a back seat and Steve Cropper steps into the spotlight and slays.

Steve Cropper was not only a great guitarist, but he co-wrote songs, most notably "Sittin On the Dock Of The Bay" with Otis Redding and "In the Midnight Hour" with Wilson Pickett. Both songs, Cropper came up with the music and the singers came up with the lyrics.

One of my all time favorites. I was introduced to him in the original Blues Brothers movie and listened to a bunch of his music over the years. RIP Sir.
Play It Steve!!

Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.
