He’s one of my very favorites and criminally underrated IMO

I’ve probably seen him 5-6 times now in concert since the mid-2000’s.

Other Voices Other Rooms is one of my favorites - especially The Speed Of The Sound Of Loneliness, a John Prine classic.

Richard Thompson is a favorite, has been since Fairport Convention. I have seen him a few times in concert, once in a very small venue. He was witty and charming. His bass player was another underrated Thompson, Danny Thompson. Though not related, they were clearly simpatico and their repartee was quite entertaining.

Taylor Swift is talented but Mr. Thompson is many levels above Ms. Swift in terms of songwriting and guitar playing. Anyone who has listened to the words and fingerstyle guitar of 1952 Vincent Black Lightning will understand. That's one of many songs in Mr. Thompson's catalog.

Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?
