I became fascinated with this storm several years ago. https://thumbwind.com/2023/11/...3-great-lakes-storm/ I cannot even imagine the horror these men and women encountered. Several books about the events of that storm. Niech Zyje P-220 Steve

Damn, 248 lives and 19 ships lost. I always think of shipwrecks on Superior but obviously the other Great Lakes have had their share, especially Huron. This message has been edited. Last edited by: NOCkid,

The article claimed that 248 people died, not 150. That's a huge difference. Normally I wouldn't comment on a discrepancy like that but that is too wide to ignore. Jim ________________________ "If you can't be a good example, then you'll have to be a horrible warning" -Catherine Aird

Fixed. Sorry Jim, I was apparently asleep at the wheel earlier this morning, thanks for pointing it out.

When the "gales of November" arrive, I go down to Presque Isle Park to watch Lake Superior. The power of the lake is amazing. And terrifying too. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles
