Damn, 248 lives and 19 ships lost. I always think of shipwrecks on Superior but obviously the other Great Lakes have had their share, especially Huron.This message has been edited. Last edited by: NOCkid,

The article claimed that 248 people died, not 150. That's a huge difference. Normally I wouldn't comment on a discrepancy like that but that is too wide to ignore.

When the "gales of November" arrive, I go down to Presque Isle Park to watch Lake Superior. The power of the lake is amazing. And terrifying too.
