I'm trying to avoid spoiling it, but I'm not sure if it was Costner's stubbornness, Sheridan's arrogance, or what. But I feel like they really botched what's left of the show. There are talks of a season 6 but at the moment it appears to be just rumors. I'm not sure how they can wrap everything up with only a half dozen episodes left. It just left a bad taste in my mouth.

I’ve been tired of the whole Beth/Jaime thing, so I’m looking forward to its conclusion.

I guess I’m the odd man out; I never really liked the show from the start.

It was beautifully shot, with stunning scenery, great cast, well acted and even a tiny bit of nostalgia in that it kind of reminded me of the tv series were shot back in the 90’s.

Yet every character was miserable, despicable, mean spirited and just flat out unlike-able. By the end of the first season. The sow was such a chore to watch so I stopped watching. I guess over the years the characters have only gotten worse.

I have been a bit bummed since Beth has not got topless in a season or 2

Jaimie should have been kilt long ago,

his current girlfriend ( the cylon from BSG) needs to be given a quarter to get a rat to chew that wart off her cheek,,,

has the Chinese chick playing the Native married to Kayce ever smiled? she is hawt, but seems to be always sad,

and what's up with Jimmy, he left to go to 6666 ranch, had a few episodes, and just is a minute or 2 per episode now,, if at all, spin off or ??

I'm barely interested in the show nowadays. I may not even finish it.

Does the airplane that has been left as a loose end since season 2 still have the bomb in the fuel tank?

Yellowstone jumped the shark with this final half-season. First they manage to run off their headlining star and have to call an audible on the remaining plot, and now the product placement has become so clumsy and over-the-top that it's comical.

It's all just becoming one big circle jerk pandering to Taylor Sheridan's personal business ventures... And lining his pockets.

Every time you turn around, some character is commenting on how amazing and important the Sheridan-owned 6666 Ranch is, or how tasty his 6666 brand vodka is (followed by a lingering camera shot of a bottle of it), or how fantastic Sheridan's brand of coffee is, etc.

At least the product placement in earlier seasons was attempting to be subtle, with everyone drinking Coors beer and driving Ram trucks but not beating you over the head with it. Now they're building entire scenes with stilted forced dialogue around the 6666 products they're plugging. Ridiculous. Just as bad as back in the 1950s, with Lucille Ball stopping mid-scene to turn towards the camera and gush over how much she likes Acme brand dish soap, before returning to the jokes like nothing happened.

Now I'm just waiting for Lioness to start doing the same. Scene opens. Joe comes home after long days in the field. Her husband pours her a drink while exclaiming how wonderful that new 6666 vodka he found is. Joe takes a sip, agrees that she's seen the whole world and this is the best vodka on the planet. Then they wistfully suggest that they take the girls on a vacation together to Texas to show them the incredible and historical 6666 Ranch. Cue a long, lingering shot of the 6666 vodka bottle on the table next to a brochure for 6666 Ranch Guided Tours Inc. before Joe's cell phone rings. End scene. Roll Eyes

Yep. Spinoff. Those Season 4 episodes were intended to be a "backdoor pilot", to be used as a jumping-off point for Sheridan's 6666 show that was supposed to debut this year, with Jimmy and his fiancée as two of the main characters. But now it's been delayed while Sheridan wraps up some of his eleventeen other shows, and gets the direct sequel to Yellowstone starring Rip and Beth off the ground.

I watched a bunch of episodes of "Yellowstone" in a row a few years back and agree with the above poster; outside of Costner's character (who was semi-likable), all the rest of the main characters were unlikeable; nasty, evil and immoral. Felt like "Dallas" on steroids. I think Sheridan developed his screen writing for characters skills from too many watchings of "High Plains Drifter" and "Unforgiven".

I watched his "1883" and was turned off by that as well (although atleast that had a few sympathetic characters); a totally disastrous wagon train journey. Must have been inspired by that online game. Only thing he missed was the alkali bad water scene...

Don't care to watch his stuff ever again.

spot on,

I was telling the wife that Taylor's formula is getting to be a bit much
we watched the first episode of his Oil drama, with Billy Bob,

hr show,
35 minutes of dialog/action,
the rest is slow panning scenery shots and the country song or singer of the week in the background,
