Given the other thread, I was thinking about the great gag messages in the intro. Found a website that has all of them. Pretty cool. This is Jim Rockford… “Posterity! You will never know how much it cost the present Generation to preserve your Freedom! I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven, that I ever took half the Pains to preserve it.” ― John Adams "Fire can be our friend; whether it's toasting marshmallows, or raining down on Charlie." - Principal Skinner.

Great show, when they were getting cars from GM they were going to give him a Trans Am, Garner didn't want it, said Rockford was living check to check and couldn't have afforded a top of the line model. So they got Firebird Formulas, changed the hood to a flat one, no spoilers to make it look like a standard Firebird Esprit, with of course the V8, also Garner didn't like the 79 and up front end, so all the way through the end of the show, they put 78 front ends on the newer cars.... Rockford was known for doing a J turn in it, and since then, the practice has become "doing a Rockford" Enjoy!

All I remember was the answering machine and none of the messages. Thanks for the reminder. I don’t actually know if I personally liked the series. My dad would have been watch it. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Mr. Garner and Laurence Fishburne were here filming "Decoration Day" in 1990. Two of the nicest dudes I have ever met. Laurence was really young and I got to\had to stay close to him and on occasion Mr. Garner. *************** "A man can never have too much red wine, too many books, or too much ammunition." - Rudyard Kipling
