I think it’s been 15+ years since I’ve seen this movie. I remember enjoying it. I saw the lions at the Field Museum back in the summer of 2005.

A genuinely scary movie. You feel the victims' nakedness as the big cat drags you off.

This was a great movie. I haven't watched it in years.

I believe Tombstone is his greatest performance. He made the movie.

Paraphrasing from memory:
"Patterson the lion killer! Oh how I wish I could have been on the hunt with you."

"No you don't."

Was reading a lot of Peter Capstick books when this was out. The two went very well together.

I talked with a guy from Kenya that said this story was required reading in school and based on truth.
It is a great movie.

Some truth, some fiction see story from Field museum link. The film showed lions with manes, which was not accurate, and a number of other details. Great story though.

Lions rule!

Can't imagine getting your skin licked off by that giant sandpaper tongue. I saw a video on YouTube where a guy was getting groomed by a cheetah. He said it was like having a cactus lick you. And the lion is so much bigger and stronger.
