Knew of it, never got around to watching it.

Kept seeing YouTube shorts of various scenes and finally decided to watch the whole thing. Prime Video has it divided up into episodes.

Assuming there's any realism to it at all (and I imagine there is...) people were some kinda TOUGH in that time and place!

Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

I bought the dvds. My wife and I watched it circa 2003 ish. I didn't tell her it was a series. After about 3 hours she said, "How long is this movie, anyway?"

I hated rude behavior in a man...I won't tolerate it.

My wife and I were talking about Lonesome Doce a few weeks ago as we really enjoyed it when it came out.
May be time to rewatch it.

Interestingly, a lot of it is based on the experiences of Charlie Goodnight and Oliver Loving and others associated with them. So much so that it irritates me.
For example, Deets' grave marker is almost exactly the same as Goodnight's longtime companion, except it reads 32, instead of 16 IIRC, engagements with Comanche and Kiowa.
The rest of the story is basically Nelson Story's cattle drive to Montana.
Larry McMurtry is a good author, but Lonesome Dove waasn't exactly an original work. For a lot of it, he just changed names.
