With 3 US races, a lot of coverage, I can't wait.
I'm going to guess Caddy owners might see a bump in the blue book.

My guess is that they won't go live in the official F1 store until closer to the end of the season.

I'm not talking about the F1 store. I'm talking about the actual team store. They have a webpage but no store.

I can spend my entire savings on Merc stuff here.

Nothing new in quali again. Oscar and Lando 1/2, Hadjar overperforming in 4th, and Lancelot Stroll crashed another car.

Thee only interesting news is from the IndyCar side of things:

https://racer.com/2025/08/29/d...a-move-to-f2-in-2026

quote:
Discussions underway for possible Herta move to F2 in 2026

Colton Herta could be on the move to Formula 2 in 2026 in order to chase more Super License points for a future Formula 1 drive, RACER understands.

The IndyCar star races for TWG Motorsports-run Andretti and was linked with one of the Cadillac F1 seats, but any outside chance of landing one was ended by his lack of an FIA Super License. Provided Kyle Kirkwood takes part in Sunday’s race in Nashville, Herta can finish no higher than sixth in this year’s IndyCar standings – which would leave him on 37 of the required 40 points – and he could theoretically drop outside the top 10, for a three-year total of 31.

As a step on the F1 feeder series ladder, F2 offers the required 40 points to the top three finishers in the championship, with double figures for the entire top six. Of additional value, the entire championship races on the F1 undercard, featuring race weekends at 14 of the 24 grand prix venues this year, while it also uses high-degradation Pirelli tires.

Herta previously raced in Europe in 2015 and 2016, but has never competed in the official F1 feeder series of F2 or F3.

With Cadillac having committed to the experienced pairing of Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas for its debut season in F1, placing nine-time IndyCar winner Herta in F2 would allow him a chance to gain further knowledge of the series and work closely with the team, preparing him for a future race seat if and when he secures a Super License.

RACER has knowledge of multiple teams in F2 being approached about the possibility of running Herta, but it is not yet clear if any discussions have materialized into an agreement. Andretti would need to secure a replacement for Herta in IndyCar before sanctioning such a move, and Will Power is believed to be among the options.

The exploration of a move to F2 for Herta tallies with comments from TWG Motorsports CEO Dan Towriss during the announcements relating to Perez and Bottas at the start of this week, when he said: “It's important to us to make sure there's a pathway for an American driver into Formula 1, and we'll be working on that”.

At the time, when directly asked if he was considering placing Herta in F2, Towriss replied: “No, that's not what we're reporting today, no.”

And Palou to Red Bull is complete hogwash.

Just when Lance looked like he was raising his game.......
At least he's taking the heat off of Yuki this weekend.

Yuki out in Q2 isn't doing him any favors though. Especially being matched by the Kawasaki Sauber

Interesting how they each got there.

One through timing, the other out of frustration with the DRS train.

Interesting to see the speed of the Lando and Oscar on the Hard tires as compared to the others on the Softs

Did you see the breaking of the trophy? It was real, not AI generated. (It will be replaced, it has been announced)

I saw it and that trophy was fragile. He just sat it on the track and it broke. Now, granted if you take your mom's fine china and do that it will break, but how many photos have been taken with F1 trophies that have been set down just like that and didn't break? Thousands.

Finally got to it last night. A fair bit of chaos.
Sucks to be Lando. Saw McLaren acknowledged the oil fitting failure was on chassis side, not engine.

Edit to remove enormous photo
They should've done the front wing in silver, to match the snowplow

The great thing about that is Will Power keeps a top seat for next year in IndyCar, and if Herta does end up running F2 for experience, his pit crew can't screw him over for half the races (and the other half is just 1 stop).

I was fortunate to be able to attend most of the USGP’s in the 70’s and watched those Ferraris race.
All the other cars and drivers of the era too.
For $5 you could buy a pass that allowed you to walk down the center isle in the garage building. For the whole weekend.
You could strike up a conversation with anyone who would talk to you and many would.
I don’t think you can buy that experience anymore, for any amount of money.

Short race, as usual for Monza. Don't 100% agree with the McLaren call after the pit stops.
