Post up your favorites about our favorite state(and state of mind). I've always liked "Texas" by Chris Rea:
https://open.spotify.com/track...w_RM_VQ3yg6OWMbAHR7A

And just to show how cool/hip/with it I am, here's the latest from Khruangbin-Leon Bridges, "Texas Sun": https://open.spotify.com/track...28cKdfSde66HlF8t_EZQ

I'm sure JALLEN would have posted up the "Eyes of Texas", so here it is. https://open.spotify.com/track...vPBF0CQ5CwWUuIa2mRGg

“How was I to know that it was pronounced “Doo-mis?”

Seriously though, I love Texas Music/Red Dirt Country, and have going back to Willis Alan Ramsey, Steven Fromholz, Jacky Jack, Ry Cooder, Marc Benno and many more. Here’s just two that came to mind:

This one goes way back to Michael Murphey’s second album, Cosmic Cowboy Souvenir , when Michael just had two names. It’s a really pretty one.

The Yellow Rose of Texas.
When I was a wee lad I would put the 78LP on the zenith console stereo, crank up the volume and parade around the living room.
Fond memories.

ZZ Top of course ~ you can't get any more TEXAS than that. Cool

Rumour spreadin' 'round
In that Texas town
About that shack outside La Grange
And you know what I'm talkin' about
Just let me know if you wanna go
To that home out on the range
They got a lot of nice girls
Have mercy
A haw, haw, haw, haw, a haw
A haw, haw, haw
Well, I hear it's fine
If you got the time
And the ten to get yourself in
A hmm, hmm
And I hear it's tight
Most ev'ry night
But now I might be mistaken
Hmm, hmm, hmm
Have mercy

If you're goin' through hell, keep on going.
Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it.
You might get out before the devil even knows you're there.

Khruangbin is pretty out there, but I really like them.

Can't believe no one has posted Asleep at the Wheel yet. A song about Texas in Texas' own musical style.
