and with all due respect to Hogstr, who posted the original, this is REK’s cover of “Levelland;” it’s always been one of my favorites from Keen (a great songwriter in his own right).
Lastly, I hope those who like this sort of music (and haven’t listened before), will take the time to listen to Fromholz’s “Texas Trilogy” as posted by jhe. As the name suggests, it’s a suite of music in three movements. If nothing else listen to the third movement, “Bosque County Romance,” which begins at a about 5:35. It’s a treasure. This is actually the album I own with the track on it. I’d have to say I like the mix on this better; Fromholz’s vocal is more front and center and the accompaniment isn’t quite so in your face. Slightly longer version too, that’s kinda fun. Bosque County Romance begins at roughly 8:15 in this recording, and if can be so bold...start at about 6:45 to hear his perspective on mortuary services in Kopperl, Texas. “Texas Trilogy” from Just Playin’ Along
