No idea what made me think of this scene. You may, or may not, think Shooter was a great movie, but this is undeniably a great scene. Levon Helm as the most legendary gunsmith east of the Mississippi. Helm only got “also in the cast” film credit, although it was certainly more than a cameo. _______________________________________________________ despite them

Still got the shovel. This is indeed a great scene, IMO. I think the movie is pretty good too. "We're all travelers in this world. From the sweet grass to the packing house. Birth 'til death. We travel between the eternities."

Best part of the movie, though the bar was set pretty low.

I also like that "side quest" to go get advice from some hermit master. Still not sure why he checked both their hands. He was almost doing a palm-reading on Swagger.

I think he was checking for callouses and signs of working with your hands if I had to guess.

Welcome to Tennessee, patron state of shootin' stuff.. It's not a great movie, but it's a good movie, and that was one of the better scenes...

While not a "great" movie, I enjoyed it the couple of times I've watched it. Levon was perfect in that role. Sad that he is gone now... Save the whales. Redeem them for valuable prizes...

I just saw Helm play Gen. John Bell Hood in a movie called In The Electric Mist. Filmed in Louisiana with Tommy Lee Jones. Good role for Helm. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

I've got it on CD, so have watched it two or three times. Not a bad flick, and Levon's scene was great.

Not a horrible movie, one of the first I'd seen in theaters. Unfortunately, it was based on one of my favorite books/characters and was a miserable fucking failure when viewed in that light. Marky Mark was a horrible casting, the story was butchered and I didn't like it nearly as much as I should have. Yes, this was one of the better scenes in the movie. Not that that's saying much. A Perpetual Disappointment...
