Fifty movies so far. Halfway to my goal of 100.

Airplane
Animal House
Back To The Future
Big Trouble In Little China
Blazing Saddles
Cabin In The Sky
Caddyshack
Casablanca
Charade
Cool Hand Luke
Deliverance
Dial M For Murder
Diehard
Dirty Harry
Double Indemnity
Dr. Strangelove
Dr. Zhivago
Driving Miss Daisy
Fifth Element
Full Metal Jacket
Godfather I
Godfather II
Gone With The Wind
Green Pastures
Gummo
Heat
Jaws
Lawrence Of Arabia
Little Big Man
Living The Dream
Mr. Roberts
Pulp Fiction
Saving Private Ryan
Showgirls
Spaceballs
Spice World
Stand By Me
Stormy Weather
The Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai Across The Eighth Dimension
The Birds
The Black Scorpion
The Kentucky Fried Movie
The Outlaw Josie Wales
The Searchers
The Silence Of The Lambs
Tora Tora Tora
Trading Places
Yankee Doodle Dandy
Young Frankenstein
Zardoz

I did not include the generally-described movies like "anything with Bugs Bunny in it."

I am debating with including sequels (e.g. Godfather I and II). Not a remake here, a continuation of a long story, so I left them both in. But, in 24 James Bond movies, or the Star Wars series, or Die Hard...hard to handle franchises. Usually the first is the one, that special combination of story, talent, filmmaking.

I didn't see John Ford's "The Quiet Man" on your list. I nominated that movie on page 2.

Top Gun. Oh...wait. Razz

"If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

You left my 3 off the list, Gallipoli, The Sand Pebbles and The Right Stuff.

So, in your opinion, The Great Escape could be remade with a different cast, but Showgirls could not? Wait! Showgirls?!?
