he's made a few and some of them were good, but would he be in your top ten ? for a cowboy , western figure? Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Neck Ties, Hats and ammo brass, Never ,ever touch'em w/o asking first

I voted he is in the top ten...especially in Will Penny and in The Mountain Men (which I regard as a "western figure" ). ******************************************************** "we've gotta roll with the punches, learn to play all of our hunches Making the best of what ever comes our way Forget that blind ambition and learn to trust your intuition Plowing straight ahead come what may And theres a cowboy in the jungle" Jimmy Buffet

While I suppose he did fine in some cowboy roles, I would never have thought of him when thinking of my favorites. Certainly not in my top ten.

I must be the only one who voted "Passable," and it doesn't even register!

I think his best western roles were in The Big Country and Will Penny. I voted passable too. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

Passable. He was good in The Big Country, haven't seen it in years though. He was OK in Tombstone. I think he came off better playing a supporting role in westerns. His talents were elsewhere. OK, I voted “passable, but not great.” What do YOU say bendable? You asked but never said why, or what you think about his roles in Westerns. _______________________________________________________ despite them

I'd have picked a half dozen others , prior to choosing Heston in the roll of a western figure or cow poke. Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Neck Ties, Hats and ammo brass, Never ,ever touch'em w/o asking first

Is “Major Dundee” a Western or a war flick (set in 1864-65 in Texas/Arizona-New Mexico territories). Senta Berger was definitely “eye candy”. --------------------- DJT-45/47 MAGA !!!!! I would choose way more than a half dozen. Hell, a dozen TV actors would have been better. "I’m not going to read Time Magazine, I’m not going to read Newsweek, I’m not going to read any of these magazines; I mean, because they have too much to lose by printing the truth"- Bob Dylan, 1965

Probably my Heston favorite. Richard Harris was good in it as well. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

My favorite was when he was as travelleling in The Forbidden Zone! A horse, a rifle and a purty girl. ___________________________ "I Get It Now" Beth Greene

I really like Will Penny and The Big Country. Watch both of them most every time I see them on, but it would be really hard for me to put Heston in my top ten Western actors. War Eagle!

Two of my favorites as well. Will Penny, not your typical western, but greatly played. Totally different character in Mountain Men. NRA Life Endowment member Tri-State Gun collectors Life Member
