Excellent the more money in Angels coffers the better.
They are putting out great shows/films.
The Chosen was excellent. I can’t wait for the rest of the seasons.

That was an excellent show. Bravo to the Timcast crew and Tim Ballard and the other guy (the film maker) whose name I cannot pronounce.

Dailywire.com: ‘Sound of Freedom’ Estimated To Hit $100 Million Mark

By Katie Jerkovich • Jul 17, 2023 DailyWire.com

“Sound of Freedom” is projected to hit the $100 million mark this week after its second weekend in theaters, with the audiences increasing by more than 37% over the film’s first weekend at the box office.

The Jim Caviezel-led project, which deals with the horrors of human trafficking, has earned more than $85 million at the domestic box office over a 13-day run through Sunday, according to Box Office Mojo.

“While the entire summer movie box office lineup is underperforming, our small independent film continues to grow week over week,” said Jared Geesey, SVP of Global Distribution at Angel Studios. “Driven by millions of fans and supporters, SOUND of FREEDOM has become a national—and soon international—movement for change.”

Sound of Freedom fans, thank the theater staff for supporting the mission of bringing awareness to this movie. Thank the young staff members who ensure the largest possible audiences see the film. — Angel Studios (@AngelStudiosInc) July 13, 2023

“There have only been 10 wide release movies in box office history that have had a 2nd weekend increase greater than 35% over their opening weekend,” Brandon Purdie, Head of Theatrical Distribution for Angel Studios, added. “All of them did it at Christmas. Angel Studios is the only Studio to do this in the summer blockbuster season with SOUND OF FREEDOM.”

“Sound of Freedom” comes from the same studio responsible for the popular faith-based television series “The Chosen.”

The film has done incredibly well in the middle of the country and the southern portion of the United States, becoming the number one movie over the July 7-9 weekend at theaters in Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Phoenix, and Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, and Salt Lake City, according to Comscore data.

In the movie, which is based on a true story, Caviezel portrays Tim Ballard, a federal agent who quits his job and embarks on a dangerous mission to rescue a young girl from sex slavery in South America.

We lived in San Miguel de Allende Mexico for 2 winters about 5 years ago. We had a condo 3 blocks from an elementary school. We noticed the kids were generally walked to and from school with a parent - typically the father. When we questioned a local about this practice, he told us that kidnapping was a real threat. I would never have guessed this.

Sabotaging the movie-watching experience

In all my years of going to the theater, only one time has a film been interrupted while I was in the theater. Super 8 in June, 2011. There were bad storms that day and I told my wife before the film started that we would be lucky to get through the movie without a power outage. Sure enough, that's what happened. Our money was refunded, never went back to watch it again.

That was an act of God, but in this PJW video, it is obvious what is happening.

Wondering if there was any purpose to this movie, other than
Entertainment for the general public.

And if the Catholic church has made any comments about it.

We went to see this friday night.
Damn.
It was very emotional throughout the entire move and extremely well done. I don't understand the controversy around this movie as it's all about how evil human trafficking is. Especially for children.

To address this problem means that they would first have to address the border...or lack thereof. There are other factors as well, but that, IMO, is the biggie.

We saw this last night... We also watched the ending message from Jim Caviezel - everyone needs to see this movie.

The purpose of this movie is to inform everyone of what is going on. As Mr. Caviezel mentions at the end of the movie, there are more people in slavery right now than at any other time in human history. Millions of these slaves are children..
Mr. Caviezel also said that during the mid 19th century, people read Harriet Beecher Stowe's "Uncle Tom's Cabin" - this book had a major impact on society and the attitudes towards slavery changed dramatically. The hope is that the same thing will happen with this movie - and it needs to happen.

Again, go see this movie. If you for some reason can't afford it you can get free tickets at angel dot com.

Go see this movie...

My wife and I saw it this past weekend. Even my wife said some of these perps should have been shot on the spot, which is very uncharacteristic (so I thought) of her.

Go see the movie.

Added Angel Studios to my Roku TV channel line up as they will stream this in the future which works for those of us who can't readily patronize theaters.

Oh good. It's on my wish list and have been waiting to buy it on vudu along with Equalizer 3. From the beginning, I knew I was going to buy it.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I generally buy the physical media anyway but in this case I highly suggest everyone do the same and be sure to buy it directly from Angel Studios.
The reason being 2 fold. I want Angel Studios to get as much of the money as possible so they can keep putting out more and more great content.
Also, I learned the other day here on Sigforum that these digital copies even the ones you have purchased can be edited for content down the road.
Being that this movie was quite controversial probably a good idea to actually have a physical copy.
