I have never been for some reason. Sounds pretty cool, they let you just walk the paddock etc. I am really looking forward to it. Anyone else going?

VIR was my home track when I was racing my Porsche. It is a very beautiful track with flowing corners.

some of the best places to watch the race are on the slight hill above turn 4 and after the ole Oak Tree turn. Another place is on the second floor deck of the snack area but it can be crowded.

Keep in mind that it will be HOT! So dress accordingly.

I am really looking forward to walking the paddock and getting to see the Porsche GT cars. I signed up for the Car Coral so I get to park there, I doubt I do the safety briefing and drive the track. But they talked of it gives us a pass to an area with AC as well. Anyway, I am really looking froward to it.

I loved racing there. What course do they run? I looked at the web site but it wasn't obvious to me.

If I remember correctly they run the full course, not the grand course. Lap times should be around 1:40 to 1:50!

So I actually decided to buy another ticket. Turns out the GTP and GT cars that I want to see are actually going to be racing in August. This is the most confusing thing ever. I had to go to each individual team to see what their racing schedule was. I still am not sure who will be racing at the July race.

IMSA July Race at VIR

The August IMSA GT race

I am really looking forward to it. I plan on making my way down the paddock to try to see the cars and such.
