I missed any early mentions of this new Prime series that apparently just dropped today (1/9). Modern-day police / patrol show set in Long Beach, CA. Has a couple of familiar faces (Eriq LaSalle of “ER” fame and, of all people, Lori Loughlin from “Full House”). 30-minute episodes, eight total, I believe. I’m three episodes in and it’s kept my attention. I still prefer the likes of “Bosch” for this sort of show, but it’s not bad (to me). I'm in about halfway - definitely grittier than most series on air these days. I'm liking it so far . . . .

I binged the whole series today and I liked it. Had some good action scenes, a little drama, no romance, better than I expected for a made for TV cop series. I am sure someone will come along and piss all over it, but I thought it was good. "But, as luck would have it, he stood up. He caught that chunk of lead." I binged the first 4 tonight. I'd scrolled past it a few times thinking it was gonna be another blah police procedural. Thanks for the tip! Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

Didn’t care for it. It is entertainment, not a documentary but the female lead is the cop that no one wants to work with. Also, when they were doing the warrant round up in the barrio gangs, she made the comment to the effect “today we set back our standing in the community” or some such lefty garbage. Amazing that style of policing hasn’t worked in blue cities, but it was messaging from the left that Coffee with a Cop works better than actually enforcing lawful warrants.

I got halfway through the second episode and turned it off. Those cops looked and acted like they worked for Amnesty International before joining the force. I'd heard that police in RAT cities in RAT states want social workers, not law enforcement. The show sure nails that aspect.

Mixed reviews here. Guess we’ll just have to try it and see. _______________________________________________________ despite them

I saw the title and thought “They made a series about a guy dragging his ass to the keyboard at 2am with his cellphone having a seizure?” Glad y’all clarified. -- I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. JALLEN 10/18/18 https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...610094844#7610094844

It's the new non-proactive "team oriented" proactive "community policing"...whatever that means.

I bingewatched the season and thought it started out alright. Nice to see some So. CA agency other than LAPD portrayed and they did the uniforms, vehicles, and locations rights. The culture of that agency was fairly realistic at first, but as the season progressed it kinda got off the rails. No spoiler from me, BUT the ending was so absurd as to be hilarious. I know they are hoping for a second season (the writer/producer/director in most of the episodes is the son of Dick Wolf from the "Law and Order" series of shows), but it seemed like they must have let the technical advisers (actual cops) go to save some money or something.
