I was young when it aired originally. I’ve started watching it from the beginning and so much comes to mind. So far in the first season, the story writing is very good. It’s seems to be a die that all the Law and Order type cop shows tried to repeat looking at it in hindsight. The characters are well written and don’t seem forced. I see now that I was way too young to appreciate it when it was on in the 1980s. And hey, let’s be careful out there. ________________ People hate you. Train like it.

The cold opening "Roll Call" hooked me from Episode 1. Now I gotta watch it all again. "the meaning of life, is to give life meaning" ✡ Ani Yehudi אני יהודי Le'olam lo shuv לעולם לא עוד

A very well done show. I’ve watched it all the way through more than once. Great characters. Who could forget the character often referred to as “Choice Joyce”

I was in college when Hill Street Blues aired, a group of us would watch it each week... then later in the week, I would call my dad and we would talk about the episode that had aired, he loved that show. After college, I continued watching it when I was stationed at Ft. Knox. I think that I have the first two years on DVD, might have to get them out and re-watch them. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

Amazon has the complete series on DVD for $49.97 but it's a sale price. -------------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H L Mencken I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. -- JALLEN 10/18/18

1: there was a time when I believed Veronica Hamill was absolutely the most beautiful woman in the world 2: one of the saddest scenes on TV was when Captain Freedom died in Belker‘s arms. ___________________________ All it takes...is all you got. ____________________________ For those who have fought for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

I remember my father enjoying that show and being in my teen high school years I did not appreciate it. Is this available on any of the streaming services? _________________________ "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile - hoping it will eat him last” - Winston Churchil

Years ago, can't remember exactly when, but probably in the early 1990s, we were having dinner in a NYC deli. Looked up, and sitting at the counter, was Bruce Weitz -- the actor who played Mick Belker. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

I was young when it originally aired and did not realize, understand, or appreciate a lot of the off beat humor. This can be said for St Elsewhere, NYPD Blue and even Barney Miller. It wasn't till I was older, and working in law enforcement and the Medical Examiner, that I realized how great the show was, and the humor.

Hill Street Blues literally pioneered the TV cop genre we see everywhere today. Stephen Bochco was a true innovator. We saw this style mostly perfected in NYPD Blue, the natural progression for Bochco. Let us not forget: Sal Benedetto Norman Buntz Andy Sipowicz "We're all travelers in this world. That was NYPD Blue, and the booty in question was Dennis Frantz. Fantastic show, just fantastic. It still holds up. ___________________________ All it takes...is all you got. ____________________________ For those who have fought for it, Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ
