Well we're just going to have to see this. We've seen the first two Deadpools. Some previous mention of doing homework if not all that familiar with the MCU. Any suggestions for the best YouTubes or whatever to get up to speed? Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

Yeah, that M14 video guy... |
What prior recommended viewing do you all have before watching this movie? I've watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine and we're watching Logan right now as I believe the little girl from that movie makes an appearance in this one, but not certain. I've seen Deadpool 1 & 2. We're informed on the TVA as we watched both Loki series already. Outside of Loki, we checked out on Marvel mid-way through She-hulk. Haven't watched any other new Marvel in cinema after Thor, Love and Thunder, except Guardians of the Galaxy III. Tony. You are way ahead of me, and I loved it and got ‘most’ of the inside jokes. You've definitely got it well covered. To get most of the backstory and main references, you need to have seen: Deadpool 1 & 2 Logan Loki Season 1 That's about it. There are about a half-dozen cameos from several early (pre-MCU) Marvel movies that I don't want to name here to keep it spoiler-free, but nothing that requires significant backstory, if you're at least familiar with who the characters are. And there are several quick scenes with deep cut references to a number of the more popular/famous Wolverine comic book storylines over the past several decades, but those are brief and not vital to the plot, mainly just acting as fan service for older comic readers. Even if you've never seen all of that, if you're at least familiar with who Deadpool and Wolverine are, you'll still enjoy it at a superficial level as a fun and irreverent action-comedy superhero flick. Just not as much as the fans who grew up reading comic books and watching Marvel movies from 1998 to present, at which this is squarely aimed.

All of the other Dead Pools had some interesting people. Lady Pool was Blake Lively. Kid pool was Reynolds daughter, and one was his partner in his Wrexham venture. Look for the one with the red dragon on his costume. _________________________ OH, Bonnie McMurray!

Cowboypool is Matthew McConaughey. Headpool is Nathan Fillion.

The “first” superhero they encounter? The expression when they figured it out was priceless. (Yeah, I fell for it too even though I was aware of the other)

Saw it tonight - like others have said, a very enjoyable movie that will have you rolling through most of it. Time will tell if Hugh does a Wolverine role again…a lot of characters were given a good send off. The behind the scenes footage that played during the credits was awesome…a good reminder of where superhero films started 25ish years ago. Well worth the admission price!

Wife and i enjoyed the movie. The opening scene was the best part IMO. Don’t have the slightest clue what it was all about, will need A LOT of very detailed explanations to make sense of it. A whole lot. But it was fun and enjoyable for the most part. The senseless gratuitious violence i mean. 0-0 "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20

Saw with my adult son. It was very funny in places, and clever, but it was also a chaotic mess storyline-wise. Still, definitely worth a watch in my opinion.

We enjoyed it, and we haven't seen a DC or Marvel movie in years they had gotten so bad. My wife actually said she thought it was probably the best movie of that genre she has seen. The jabs at Disney ruining the genre were great. Tony

Many Sacred Cows were slaughtered in the making of this movie. I had a good laugh.

I swear I had something for this |
And the bit that Prefontaine will probably enjoy the most that's not included with the movie:

Never miss an opportunity to be Batman! |
I saw it today and enjoyed it. Of course, the last film I saw in theater was last year and that was Top Gun Maverick. I will say one thing: the "previews" were about half being remakes or what not on good films (Gladiator) or anniversary re-release of old films such as Point Break and Shaun of The Dead. Not very inspiring to get people going back to the theaters (counting myself, there were about 6 of us in a 225 seat theater).
