In the interview I spoke of, he explained that the "Creators" were upset at how man turned out. They sent the Xenomorphs to destroy us. The pilot (big guy in the chair) thought we deserved another chance, and crashed the ship before delivering them to earth.

^Is that considered canon at all, or just the way Ridley Scott wanted it to go?

What he had in mind when he started it. The follow up is mind blowing, and I can see where it would be controversial and why studios didn't want to touch it. Apparently, the creators, in seeing how dedicated the 'deliverer' was in saving mankind, decided to give us another chance. So they sent another to try and "save" us and put us on the right path. We killed him. Who did they send? Jesus.

Yes, there was supposedly much more dialog written for the conversation between "The Engineer" and David in Prometheus, in which that was mentioned. The linguist hired to developed the language claimed that was part of what he was asked to translate.

That person was not named, but we are to assume it was JC.

Watched it today on Disney+ (yes I know we all hate Disney, but it may be on Hulu too). It was OK, not great. Agree with a lot of the other comments. The first part was slow, and I didn’t really care about any of the characters in the first part. For me they used too many scenes and lines direct from the other movies (especially Alien, Aliens, and Alien Resurrection). I rolled my eyes when someone said “Get off her, you bitch”. Plus, bringing back a dead character was a touch too much.

I thought the effects were good for the most part, especially if it only cost $80 million. Good amount of gore and suspense, and like how they replicated the tech of the original Alien, especially in the station and ship interior, the computer displays, and interior cameras. Enjoyed the MU/TH/UR startup sequence at the beginning.

Worth a watch, but not great.

Yes, it's on Hulu too.

But if someone hates Disney so much that they won't use Disney+, then they wouldn't use Disney-owned Hulu either... Wink

I just watched this a couple of times this week on a 4K disc with Dolby Atmos setup and I liked it. I am not one of the "critics" on here that pick a movie apart for some reason, I just enjoy it for what it is. The making of special features was very impressive, a lot of practical effects done and Ridley Scott was all onboard for the making of this movie. Sure it will never be Alien or Aliens, but it was a still a good sci-fi horror flick.
