Do we really need this?

My expectations are low.

I am so tired of TV reboots. I can't think of one that equaled, let alone surpassed the original.
Some were just plain awful and only served to sully the reputation of the original, if they lasted long enough; others just disappeared in a flash, leaving no mark whatsoever...
Anyone care to start a list of failed reboots?

Hopefully better than the Magnum PI reboot. Has anyone successfully recreated a hit show?

I know they tried two other reboots that failed.

One in 2009, with Dermont Mulroney and a planned Vince Vaughn movie, but never went to production because of horrible feed back.

The new and darker Battlestar Galactica was a cool twist with human looking Cylons.

Kobra Kai was good (for a few seasons) from Johny’s point of view.

The Office was an American version of a British show.

I didn’t watch it, but I’ve read that the updated Hawaii Five-0 was pretty popular.

Magnum really disappointed me, I so badly wanted it to be good, and knew it was going to suck when I saw that Higgins was a hot girl that Magnum would eventually get with.

Same with Miami Vice the movie, damn I wanted to like that. Nope. I’ve read that they are going to try and reboot it as a TV show…I hope not; just let that one die. Nobody can organically recreate the cool that Crocket and Tubbs did in the 80’s.

James Garner is Rockford.

If the morons spent as much time trying to come up with an original idea as they do trying to plagiarize someone else’s work. Garner and the others should get a residual for their work being pirated.

The only thing good about the re-boot of Hawaii 5-0 was they kept the original theme music.

I think the only decent ideas and the few people that have them don't work to make shows for broadcast networks anymore. They are all streaming.

The networks are bankrupt of ideas.

I guess if you've never seen the original,
why not give it a shot.

Have a good time finding anyone half as good as
Garner and Stuart Margolin though.

True.

Kinda like the Batman movies.

If the plot is unremarkable and the characters are shallow...

At least give us a cool car.

Wonder if they’ll use a voice mail or text intros. The Rockford Files was tied to its era, don’t think they can successfully transfer the concept and feel to a modern setting. If it’s retro (set in the 70’s) it’ll be worse.

Because it will have woke values and story lines no one could have dreamed of in the 70s.
